Also you can set Quiet's mode between "scout" and "attack" modes at points on the map through the buddies menu under the mission tab. She will generally follow you around though picking spots on high ground, especially when you get into a fire fight, she'll pick spots and snipe for you. She doesnt just follow beside you or anything though.
The default is "place/remove marker", using the arrow keys changes to other stuff, including the option to send Quiet to Attack or Scout.
Also, Mission > Buddy Support > Quiet (Scout/Attack)
She will then go to the point and wait there if set to attack and will keep her targeting stance you last left it at( IE ask her for cover fire before sending her she will start shooting once she arives at a point) If told to scout she will recon the base constantly until you reach a certain distance from the base/outpost, then she will jsut head for the nearest vantage point and go back to default" am I covering or waiting" mode. She will also spawn ammo for you btw as she scouts a base, she leaves it in places ideal for sniping like a sweetheart.
