Lol don't worry much, I accidentally backed over him with a truck when I was playing as one of the girls from my combat unit and when I got out he was back on his feet, although I lost some affection points. I was so bummed and thought for sure I killed him at first.

I've seen D-Dog get hit a few times, he sort of just lies there for a while and doesn't do anything... His "death" makes him stop doing anything for about half a minute... Not that I've seen him be too active during combat to begin with.

Yeah you have to make him go after guys with the keep them busy command but he is mostly there to help with spotting people, crafting material, animals and company for the lonesome Boss.

Yeah it is a lot funnier now that I know I didn't kinda mess up my game xD. He totally chases the tail end of cars, just asking for it haha.
