Does Ocelot seem different from other MGS games?
So the Revolver Ocelot I remember from MGS3 (before TPP) and MGS1, 2 and 4 (after TPP) show a much more devious, mean, jerk of a character. I'm thinking of him torturing people, being mean to people, etc.

Now, I like this Ocelot in TPP but it's just funny: he's one way in the other games, now he's much more...I don't know, likeable. I haven't even seen any traces of the Ocelot I'm used to. Granted, I'm only 13 hours in but it seemed odd. Of course, Ocelot is the master of playing all sides so I guess he could be putting on an act or something.

Ocelot has always been a mysterious character; If I'm not mistaken he was first KGB, but working undercover as a US operative/contact. Then after MGS3, MGS1 shows him essentially going undercover, infiltrating the group on Shadow Moses, controlled by Cipher/Zero/The Patriots. As he lost his arm, it presented an opportunity for Big Boss and Ocelot to continue gathering intel on Zero/The Patriots, allowing Ocelot to undertake a brainwashing op to believe he was Liquid, giving Zero all the reason to believe Ocelot was his operative, and not Big Boss'. It's not until the end of MGS4 that you find this out, as Big Boss himself shows up to present Snake the truth.

So pretty much from MGS2 to MGS 4, and MGS 3, Ocelot wasn't quite "aligned" with Big Boss, which is why he felt a bit more hostile, and a bit more evil.

Plus, I'm sure he's the kind of character who is simply seen by some one way, and by others another way. Which is kinda accurate to real life. Thus, to Miller and Big Boss, whom Ocelot is loyal to, he comes across much better than those who are adverse to him (like, most of the cast from the other games). You just don't see that much in games or even series of games. Once a character is a "good guy" they're always seen that way, same with the bad guys.

ocelot: your good ol i have no clue who's side you're actually on because you're weird and at one point helping me and then trying to kill me

Yeah Ocelot is loyal only to Big Boss, so naturally we'd be seeing another side of him this game.
