App Already Running

The game was working perfect yesterday. When I launch the game it starts but I can't see any window for the game, when I click play again it says that the app is already running. What can I do ?

I am having the same issue. Game was working fine yesterday. mgsvtpp.exe just eats ~50 megs of memory and 0% CPU and nothing happens.

I verified integrity of game caches after reboot and game seems to be working fine now.

I restarted my PC and it worked!

This happened to me also in MGS V Phantom Pain, I tried to flush steam, restart my PC and grant admin access to accessing steam yet it still happen.

Any other idea might be good?

Already to verify the integrity, yet still the same result.
My spec is i5 4440, Nvida GTX 960 4GB, 16 GB RAM, Windows 8.1 64 bit

I suspect my Windows, but im not sure either.

i will do the -autoconfig
but nevertheless this one isnt working, i dont know and im about to give up.
sent the ticket to support, but.. seems talking to robot.

The "App already running" being displayed means there is a Process command associated with the game that is still running in error. Go to Desktop. Right click over your time (shown bottom right of your sceen) to open the Task Manager. Go to Processes & scroll through the different processes shown till you find one that is the Metal Gear program & right click again & select the End Task command. It will throw up a warning about the possibility of causing an unstable platform if you close it but because this program is non-essential to Windows it will be perfectly safe to close it down. Wait 10 sec then retry launching. Let me know if this doesnt work.

Yep, still not work too..
I tried the task manager, sequence like what you stated there. Until i right-clicked the MGS V task but when i clicked end task, no warning about possibility of causing an unstable platform.
Tried to close all my subs program like antivirus and so on, nothing happen.

Great thing again, i cant connect to server, error 101.
is this also causing the app failed to start perhaps?

Check your processes? Sometimes it still runs for me when I close it through alt+tab.

Ok - if you cant connect to the server than that is most likely causing the problem, as it is first action TPP does on game launch. So,,, that is difficult - not the best option; but you could try launching in off-line mode (disable your internet connection) & see if the game can start at least. If it does you know the cause of the problem.
