Haven't played since MGS2 on ps1, would I be lost?
Where/how does the timeline of this game fit?

I didn't think MGS2 ever came out on the PS1. As far as I remember it MGS2 came out on the PS2 first.

Anyway, I'd strongly recommend playing MGS3 Subsistence if you can. MGS2 has absolutely nothing to do with MGS TPP because MGS2 takes place in the 21st century while TPP is in the 1980s. Different main characters too.

This kinda answer is from the biggest idiots of the game fans itself. You will lose few background info and few important stuff like How Solid Snake was born and became himself. This is like star wars 4-5-6-1-2-3 and mate these last 3 games are 1-2-3 so just listen the tapes. It feeds all the info you will need to put story together

Yeah, if you just listen to the audio tapes in game it'll fill in the needed background info. They are quite well done actually, it's enjoyable to sit there and listen to stories unfold as you eat dinner or something. :KSmiley:

dude do yourelf a favor play this. I mean aside from japanese wierdness in game history part, military stuff are pretty accurate. And Soloing errrything with your spec ops gadets skills fun as ♥♥♥♥. Look just get the game play a little during a prisoner snatch mission plant a c4 to the opposite side of prisoners location double circle back detonate grab and run. See, fun

ps mad max is a crap (shadow of mordor clone just in diff setting)
