I don't know, doesn't bother me either way, game's amazing.
Labeling a weapon properly would in no way be promoting weapon manufacturers since military designations are not initial factory model names, and an M4A1 for example does not necessarily have to come from Colt (which just filed for bankruptcy).
The WU silent pistol looks almost exactly like the Ruger Mk II/Mk III, the AM D114 looks like a Browning Hi-Power, the Burkov is a clone of the Makarov PM, the Sz.-336 is some weird amalgamation of the Uzi and the Mac-10, the S1000 is obviously a Remington 870, the Rasp is your generic coach gun, the MSR-4 is some kind of combination of a FAL and the AR series complete with STANAG magazine, the SVG-76 is an AK copy and the UN-ARC is almost completely a FAL, the Renov is some weird bastard Mosin...
And so on.
Im going to assume you havent played the full series.
Also the 2 people that posted that its for a "Good Cause" and then failing to elaborate or present any fact or evidence why this is the case..
They have to pay for it. That's why. I don't get why a name would improve the game.
