Keyboard + Controller Commands
So here's the deal, love the port so far, my 7 year old computer can handle it at 1080 on high.

BUT

There is a lot of problematic prompts that appear telling me what buttons to hit to do things. Most recently and absurdly it said to "To perform a CQC throw hold [left control stick] and press [left click]."

Mostly it gives me my keyboard commands, but sometimes it throws in the control sticks.

yeah. the tool-tips are completely broken, and the game menu does NOT show you the keyboard and mouse controls, it assumes you'd only play with a XB controller, which is a shame because being unable to work out how i actually play the game without an external guide to tel me what keys do what is kind of a dealbreaker :(

indeed, loving the game but as with you not the commands which don't relate to keyboard, i may be being completely stupid but what is the command to call your horse on the keyboard?

beats me. i also have no idea how you use iron sights, how you bring up your gear/ weapon menu or use CQC

So, check the controls themselves then? You realize there's a menu for key bindings, right? It's not like it's that hard to figure out what you're supposed to be doing anyway, the only change I've noticed is swapping out movement controls, you really shouldn't be getting confused by the tooltips past the prologue.

It's sloppy and maybe a little annoying, but it's nowhere near a dealbreaker. What actually might be a dealbreaker is the fact that you can't really remap the keys properly for left-handed use.

unless im doing something wrong, there isnt. its ONLY showing button maps for a XB360 controller (barring the chance that being tired has turned me into an idiot and im missing an extremely obvious button or submenu). im talking about not being ABLE to even LOOK at the keybindings let alone change them, again unless im overlooking a really obvious menu item?

If it says to move the left analogue stick, then you do the equivilent action with the keyboard. What does the left analogue stick normally do? It makes you move. What makes you move on the keyboard? WASD. If it says to move the left stick in a direction and press the mouse button, you use W, A, S, or D and press the mouse button.

As for calling the horse, you hold down the communication button, which is Q, then move the mouse to the action you want(in this case, to the right, where it says call horse). There's also a setting for whether you have to press something to select the action or just let go of Q after moving over it. The latter option works well for me.

There's a menu option for controls, which shows the gamepad controls, then there's a separate menu under options called Key Bindings. Go in there and you can browse through and change them all.

What the heck are you talking about? There is no way to remap the keybindings, you know that right?

"Press Space while tilting Left stick"

"Push Right stick while holding Q to call horse"

How do you grab an enemy?

Well, I guess you're either just the unlucky one who didn't get a version of the game with a key assignments menu under options or maybe you're just blind.

No, it's not a dealbreaker, but it's not acceptable either.

3 years later and this crap still isn't fixed. This game is unplayable garbage. Why do you people put up with this crap? And even when you figure out the controls, they're terrible. Even with a controller, they're terrible. Try out HITMAN, Deus Ex, Dishonored, etc. for examples of stealth games with PROPER controls. This is unacceptable.

So, you're too dumb to figure out the controls, and that's the games fault?
