The game doesn't display how long the custom track is whilst it's playing either, so it's a little bit dodgy.
I downloaded the K-Lite Codec Pack (Link below) and enabled all codecs (except for the ones listed as broken). Now my Mother Base can finally rise to become the combination pizza hut and taco bell.

I downloaded the Basic version. Once it's installed, you'll want to open up the Codec Tweak Tool. Here's what I did, in order:
1) Under "General", click "Fixes"
2) Check all boxes
3) Click "Apply & Close"
4) Click through the next few dialogue boxes and allow the program to fix any broken codecs
5) Under "Codec and Filter Management", activate all audio codecs (except the ones in the "broken" sections) for DirectShow (x86), DirectShow (x64), ACM/VFW (x86), and ACM/VFW (x64). In all reality it's probably just one of these that needed to be activated but I figure I'm not gonna go back and try to fix something that isn't broken haha.
6) Click "Apply & Close"
7) Close the Codec Tweak Tool application
8) Start MGS5
9) Enjoy your custom music!
The Codec tweak worked for me. Still works for me.
