Freaking Ravens

So anyone noticed all those ravens, especially in the first mission in afghanistan?
You can actually shoot them with tranq. rounds and then kind of collect them.
Anyone knows what they are good for? Am i going to have a ton of ravens flying around the motherbase or what?

I shot the hell out of them with one of those flak cannons. I recomend that as your raven killing weapon of choice.

Day #2. I still haven't found the true purpose of the ravens but i am collecting every single one of them.

But to be honest, i think snake just wants his private little zoo.

How do you collect ravens? When they aren't flying they are always on impossible to reach places and they don't fall down if you tranq them.

Tranq them in flight or find one sitting where you can get up to.

It's for the animal platform, do you know you have one?

Spoilers:

A bit later on an 'enviromental NGO' gives you the permanent job to collect wildlife and get it out of the dnager zone.

You'll get a zoo platform later on oyu can visit, where all your collected animals are displayed.
You also get 500 (I think it was 500) GMP per animal rescued, as wel las 40 or so heroism, and you also get 40 or so positive karma points, so rescuing animals offsets your killing of enemies.

And also, for some animals you get new emblem parts, words etc., plus it's a part of the % compeltion of the game shwon in the main menu.



Side tip pfor later if you wnat to keep collecting them and prevent demon snake: always bring capture cages in the mission, and just drop them whereever. some rare stuff can only be caught in specific locations, but you get a ton of heroism and Karma if you just drop them wherever you land.

You are collecting animals to get them out of a warzone. Generally this means rare species and you're doing it on behalf of an NGO (non-goverment organization.) So basically an animal conservation charity.

I did it for the achievement.

Yeah i already found this stuff out in the meantime, but thanks anyway for clearing it up, might help others who stumble upon this thread in the future
