Go to device manager
Look for "Vjoy Virtual Joystick" under Human Interface Devices and disable it.
I think if your keyboard is competing with other inputs for attention (like a gamepad or joystick or virtual joystick) then you can run into issues
I was mashing wasd at first also, screaming at the screen in frustration as snake ran out into a group of enemies after I just spent 20 painstaking minutes sneaking past half the base... but once I realized I could just tap the direction, it's become nothing more than a minor annoyance at best.
That works sometimes, but other times, he just keeps running, no matter what I do.
I thought this worked (disabled the 360 in device manager), but it started doing it again. Much less frequently, i think.
New issue, though. My binocs CONSTANTLY zoom out no matter what I do....
I believe it has something to do with the dreadful M&KB support.
It doesn't completely fix it, but it makes the game at least semi-playable (it doesn't happen as frequently)
Also, try reinstalling the game (that's another thing I did that reduced the number of "stuck keys per play session", lol)

I'm going to do a fresh install of Windows 10 or 8 on a separate partition, installing as few drivers and programs as possible to see if the issue still persists.
EDIT: Did a clean Windows 8.1 install. Literally only installed NVIDIA driver and Steam, but the bug still popped up multiple times.
