You're not travelling on vacation with a wardrobe. Changing weapons, items, clothes, buddies - there is no Star Trek teleporter so wait for the chopper to deliver those.
And, c'mon, in a game where a flamey man rides a flamey horse, a psychic can float through walls, and where the main character has holographic technology in 1984 that society hasn't developed to this day, having a never-ending wardrobe isn't really out there in terms of unbelievability.
No biggie, but that would've been really nice to have.
