This may be the issue
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/125749
so most likely you will need to wait for a patch if the game doesn't work at all.
Thought i would still try the media feature pack or a similar codec pack it doesnt really matter if you have a Windows N version or not the only difference is that N version don't come with a the media player, their codecs and without IE at all.

Problem with the mediapack, is that it wont let me install it, as I do not have Windows 7N :)
Have tried several other packs, again with no effect, still get the r6025 - pure virtual function call, and yes, I agree with your accessment, that we might have to wait for a patch

*POSSIBLE SOLUTION*

Guys, for everyone having the "Runtime error R6025", check the service pack of your windows.
I'm using Win 7 and after installing SP 1, MGS V is now running smoothly. The error now appears only when you close the game :)

Running service pack 1, but thanks for trying to help out :)

Install an older graphic card driver, not the most recent one FOR MGSV(355.xx). I used 352.xx and now it works. The error appears only after closing the game but who cares, I can play.

Thanks for trying, tried to use the drivers you suggested.. no dice, exact same error

I'm in the same boat...Upon Exiting the game, I get RUNTIME ERROR R6025 - pure virtual function call

It must be problem with game code,as the Microsoft support page states:
RESOLUTION
Calling a pure virtual function is a programming error, so you need to find the call to the pure virtual function and rewrite the code so it is not called.

I have tried all the "fixes" that have been mentioned around this Steam Community, but the problem still persists to this day. At least Konami patches their games, unlike some other Companies ~Cough~ Koei Tecmo ~Cough~ WB ~cough XD

I'll just wait for the next Patch...

PS. Maybe it has something to do with "calling" Online Services that are currently under maintenance,as Today is the first time I have played this game and the Online Features are OFFLINE.

Sadly I have it when trying to start the game, and nothing helped so far, tried upgrading drivers, rolling back drivers etc.. kinda annoying, not been able to play the game at all.

the same thing is happening to me unfortunately, but unlike some other people I get this error while I try to start up the game. Meaning: it's unplayable. I tried every possible fix one could find on the internet, should I just give up and wait for a patch?

I have the same issue. This thread detailed a fix for me: http://steamcommunity.com/app/287700/discussions/0/527273983048833052/

Some external program that you have to run as a platform for it. It won't seem like it's loading it at first, but it'll pop the game open in like 30 seconds.

My problem is, this *did* work for me for a while, and now, although it still runs the game, in-game it's slow as balls. It didn't do this the first couple times I ran it, now it's running at like 10 fps once it gets past the title screen. Very irritating (and unplayable).

But for those of you having this issue, try the above thread's instructions. You will still likely get a "crash" on exit, but the game should still save, it did for me.

only thing that ended up working for me, was a reinstall of windows

Has anyone gotten a confirmation that they have acknowledged this issue at all?
