Can't type my name, thus unable to proceed.

After starting the game I am asked to type in my name and enter the date of my birthday. At this point, input from both of my keyboards is not registered and I'm unable to proceed.

you have to press enter when the "name" bar is highlighted! ;)

What? I would suggest only having one keyboard plugged in. Also, as Morpheus said, you should be able to press Enter or SpaceBar and it should allow name entry.

Okay, now it works for some reason. I had the blinking cursor the first time though :/
In any case, I can now play the game so thank you.

Happened to me too. I pressed alt+tab to flick back to desktop, then pressed it again to switch back to MGS and the keyboard was now active so I could type my name in. Then just used my controller as normal once the name was typed in. Took a few minutes of panic before I figured it out. Feel kinda sorry for those people that deleted and then reinstalled their games, hence why I'm posting this.

In the hospital when the doctor is talking to you. It's the way the game opens to configure the name, birthday and Avatar setup.

I understand but I’m using my ps5 controller and the game won’t allow me to type my name in…so I can’t start the game…any suggestions ?

Remove the PS5 controller, use KB&M.

I can type my name but i cant continue anymore

Had the same problem and that's what helped me (on PC): pressing Windows button + space bar. This somehow unlocked typing letters.
