How do you sneak up on WALKING enemies using KB+M?
I want to sneak up on a walking enemy.
If I do this with normal crouch walking, he'll notice me due to sound.
If I hold Ctrl to walk more quietly, he's too fast and I'll lose him.

Any ideas?

You might as well just crouch walk up to him and do a takedown (tap not hold LMB), it knocks him out for god knows how long and apparently everyone in this game is deaf when it comes to CQC.

"You might as well just crouch walk up to him"

That's the problem, though. If I do that, he'll hear me. If I hold the walk button so that I'm quieter, he walks faster than me so I'll never catch him. :\

Is that a problem that he sees you? It's not like he will alert anyone if you just slam the sucker into the ground.

Hold CTRL while using your WASD keys?

Throw empty ammo clip before him. He will stop to examine the place.

Try standing walk, if that doesn't work, then you can always just sprint up to him and either tackle him or CQC him before he has time to do anything

Use the Sneaking suit

They cant hear you while crounching.

No other way when using a M+KB without some silly bypass..and it's one of the best armors tho it's bad during the day since it's black. so only for night time.

I've said it twice already "If I hold Ctrl to walk more quietly, he's too fast and I'll lose him."

This is a decent fix, I guess. Not my style, though.

It's not really about the alert so much as it is the style of play that I would like to do. I would prefer just to reach up and grab him while he has no idea. This is also won't work super well because there are two walking enemies, one in front of the other. So I would like to grab the rear and tranq the front.

One thing I did was change my switch walk/run button from control to tab. Makes it easier to access without having to stretch as far to reach the button. I usually see what route that the enemy takes, find a descent hiding spot that is behind where he stops. Mark the spot where he likes to stop, mark the guy and then come back to take him out after I search around for some supplies.

Shame about this. Ground Zeroes at least had your speed when moving holding Ctrl at just the right level for you to catch up with enemies without it necessarily being overpowered. I hope it goes back to that value in a patch at some point.

just opened another topic a min ago, couldnt find this on search.

I have the same problem and it is really annoying. It is almost gamebreaking for me.

I got ps4 but hate to aim with a controller and went for PC version and now the movement speed is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up. Really emberassing

I actually started playing with a controller, but just today my right stick is being REALLY finicky and is being read as pushed upwards when at a resting and centered position. Makes aiming and camera control TERRIBLE.

Hopefully the guy above you is right and the old Ctrl crouch-walk speed is implemented in a patch sometime. :)

That's why I love XIM4 so much; it allows me to bind a key to walk while use keyboard and mouse to emulate controller.

Does it actually feel good to use? I can't imagine this working well at all...care to explain?

It works very well on PC for games that support controller. It uses something called smart tranilators (ST) to convert keyboard and mouse input data to controller input and outputs it through the controller to your PC (Xbox one or PS4 STs work well on PC) or game consoles. The devs of XIM4 release smart translators for each game they support and you simply download it using either your phone or PC and load it on to XIM4 (via bluetooth). A ST is constructed /trained by a custom computer vision-based system (Smart Trainer) playing the game for 12-24 hours. You can save up to 24 configs on it.
