Black screen with two white squares. Any fix yet?
Read a topic earlier where people were having this issue. I'm still having it. Was wondering if anyone found a fix around it? Happens as soon as I try to start the game. Can't get past the screen, but i can hear the sound effects from when i press the select button(A)

i have the same problem! i think, its the matter of my screen. ground zeroes works perfectly. so, its not the hardware and as you say, i can hear the sounds but i have black screen.

i believe its because of my small crappy screen. its just 1024x768.

the game starts in a black window and the window remains black. i tried to start the game in "fullscreen" but it didnt work.

help, please.... i want to play that game. <_<

Same problem as you guys, but my TV res is set at 1080p. I have tried everything, un-installing reinstalling drivers, compat mode, i have w8.1 on duelboot, so i'am go to that and see if it works on that.

So a friend helped me fix the issue. i also have 1024x768 resolution. Just change the overall resolution for a bit. i changed it to 1200xwhatever. Started the game and it worked. then go ingame and chage it back to your native resolutiona dn do the same with your computer.

Same problem, cannot find a single fix, sadly. All we can do is pray for a patch, maybe.

i cant change the resolution in my windows options higher than 1024x768 for some reason i dont know. what the hell... whats next?

why i cant change the resolution? i just can change to 800x600. nothing else....

Nothing works. I've changed the resolution and I know for certain that everything was downloaded and up to date for the game and my driver. I'm using Nvidia 970 and could run Ground Zeroes perfectly

That also fixed my windowed black screen with the little dots top right corner, Thanks for the direction, changed computer screeen resolution to 1920 x 1080 from 1024 and game launched normally straight away. will constantly be switching between the 2 screen resolutions though... what a pain

i installed the last driver vor my GPU, gforce 750 ti, but it didnt work. still can change between 800x600 and 1024x768. oh man.... *getting crazy*

edit: is there any config.data in the MGS folder where i can change it manually? i dont find anything... oO

i have 1024x768 with generic pnp monitor also with the black screen white dots, but cant change to anything but 800x600

yepp, same here, i installed the last monitor driver now as well, but i cant set the resolution higher than 1024x768

i tried this as well, but that stupid game starts in window mode anyway. doesnt work for me.... does it work for you?
