Silent takedowns?

So, my suppressor is broken and I don't just want to put everybody to sleep so that they wake up after a few minutes. I can't figure out how to take them out silently without a gun. Anybody know?

fists, knock them out. They stay knocked out longer than being put to sleep by gun

If you have trouble you could use your rifle to shoot them in the legs, they will stop what they are doing like talking in the radio so you can go and throw him in the ground with CQC.

Use CQC. Grab an enenmy when you are close to them. Make sure you are not pressing the left stick in any direction when you do it or else you will perform the CQC slam.

You have to press and hold the button which will make Snake grab and hold them, from there you have options to interrogate, knock-out, or kill them via a throat slit with the knife.

You can also use a CQC "combo" to knock them out indefinitely. You have to be stationary when you start the combo or you will slam. Just start tapping the CQC button 3-5 to perform the combo.

By the way, you can call motherbase for a supply drop, you get ammo and a silencer.

Hold left mouse to grab them, press e to kill them. They won't wake up with a knife in their heart.

Or sneak close while pointing a gun on an enemy's head to put him in a hold up. Then just ask him to get on the ground. If it is successful, the enemy will stay there until there is an alert or someone else find him.

But this is not always 100% successful, some of them try to fight back so you just CQC those that fight back.

Another way is to grab a unconsious guy and throw him at your target. It's hillarious when it hits done it like a million times.

Hold up method is the best one without knocking them out. They will stay down indefinitely unless there's an alert or someone found them. If you intend on neutralizing everyone silently without shooting or knocking out, hold up is the best method.
