First impressions - PS3 - spoiler free
Hi everyone,

So a colleague was able to get the game early over the weekend and I've been playing for a while (20 hours over three days) and I'm currently at 12% completed. The game is amazing and vast, no doubt about it, especially the opening scene (where it picks up after the end of Ground Zeroes). This game is THE best stealth game I ever played period. You can add best tactics based game to that as well, as going stealth is completely optional. Normally, after doing the same thing after several hours, you'd feel a sense of nostalgia and feel that the game is getting old quick, however for me it doesn't feel like that at all.

There are a few things I wish they did differently like soldier respawn. You'll see what I mean when you play. I'm sure someone will mod this. An example of this, is I was at a location in the upper part of the map, captured or knocked out everyone, went to door that triggered a cinematic, left through the door in which I entered (only one door to leave from) and everyone was back....WTF...@!#!$!

Also the mother base is another thing that should have been done differently. It feels like a sparsely populated mass of metal, which is fine with something so massive, however after playing it for 15-20 hours, currently there are only four things you can do which if you've seen the gameplay videos, I'm sure you seen it all already. Oh there is no armory, so while at Mother Base, you have to drop weapons etc, or change them at the deployment screen. Crazy I know.

These are minor or could be major for someone, however the story is great and I love the gameplay. I'm looking forward to playing it on PC in 13 hours.

GAY? REFUND?

Honestly, I think you should try it out. Still an amazing/phenomenal game. You do have two hour limit so you can get a sense of what I mean by that time. The prologue took me 52 minutes to complete, no retries.

Cheers, you better not be a sh!t c()nt troll!

"sparsely populated" the show videos show otherwise ? if you dont capture a lot of people for your base there are not going to be a lot of people on it.
belpin95 31 AGO 2015 a las 8:23
Do you like sub720p/25 fps average?
GameFrover 31 AGO 2015 a las 8:25
@Cracker, no I'm not. Trolling is something little kids do, it's a waste of my time.

@Scriptwolf, I currently have 200+ personnel there will be 30 to 40 at each structure. This number depends on how you upgrade the base. But there isn't any interaction that I can see, except putting them in a choke hold.
GameFrover 31 AGO 2015 a las 8:27
@belpin, not at all. I couldn't wait to play the game any longer. It's atrocious on PS3, a lot of hiccups. Better to get it on Steam or if you had to get it on console, a next-gen.

How do the microtransactions feel? Do they try to cram them down your throat at every opportunity, or no?

Hi Micket, my colleague decided to pull the ethernet cord on his PS3, since he got the release early and in that entire time, with no connection to playstation network, there wasn't any mention of FOB or microtransactions. If you don't plan on playing PP outside of single player campaign and decide to block connections, I'm sure you'd have the same results.

Well, that what I was fearing. Mother Base should have been a strong point of the game, hell should've been the what the story is all about, the building of outer heaven/zanzibar land.

I have gathered intel about MB as far as gameplay from previews and players, and they agree there should be more. It should be invested like other maps, and even I have to say the internals the open-world is limited. Mother Base can benefit a gameplay framework from a full realized interior & function, IDK much tech limitation of KJP, but instead of just jam packing it in iDroid and reducing platform interaction/function in Mother Base, they should've expanded it.

Not criticizing, for a healthy scrutiny, this game is it maiden and last, so from building a hype and contending itself to be the best action/rpg "tactical/stealth" game, it should surpass previous generations of games. A personal formula for mine is like this, lol:

MGSV construct = [Red Dead Redemption + Mass Effect] x physical PW
An immersive open-world map action setting, withstill amassing power through building an army.

I'm judging it's development as a game, and from what it offers over the installation leading up to MGSV. From Ground Zeroes + Companion App, we're under the impression of building our own. MSF started from a few dozen men in Barranquilla coast, in Colombia, to 300 men in the end of the year (quoting Kaz GZ). The companion app goes into detail, that we could have storage/hangar of our armaments and that it can be damage/repaired in maintenance, so in the end it's a weird thing they didn't implement much of it and its interaction.

Hi blissrunner,

I liked your personal formula and post. Because of the limited amount of things to do on MB, I'm now always in the field. No point to head back to MB unless it progresses the story. With the lack of any interaction amongst the crew or buildings, I decided on not visiting the other structures I've built, what's the point.

The respawn was because it was demanded my story. It was done on pourpose to add extra chalenge. And I'm a bit ahead of you and can guarantee there will be more like that.

as for armory. So? You don't need any weapon on mother base. Why add a useless thing you will never use?

The game is amazing. Thought I find Quiet to be a bit over rated.
GameFrover 31 AGO 2015 a las 9:28
@Mr. Bones, yes for PS3. I honestly don't see much changing in terms of MB for next-gen or PC, althrough I could be wrong. Looking at all the gameplay videos, even the mother base one that was displayed at GamesCon 2015 (??), doesn't look there is much to do at MB even on the PS4.

Nope. Thought I need to go to MB after every main mission to clean up. Get new audio casetes maybe check a CS and most importantly keep morale going. Quiet is using her bewitchly powers to demorilize MB and everyones fighting every now and again.
