Personally gave up and used an Xbox controller. Was okay.
That's funny.
I started with the Xbox controller but gave up of it because aiming was so difficult.
So much easier to hit head shots with the mouse
Damn right. But I agree rocket arm controls are...not terrible but I'd prefer using the mouse. Clicks to go faster and slow down. But hey it's manageable.
I never even got that far, you cant rebind any of the controls around the cursor keys and I cant get used to WASD/RDFG.
Is the mouse input any good? I remember seeing that it was terrible.
Also once you upgrade the guns the autoaim is kind of offensively strong. It becomes semi impossible to miss even with thumbsticks.
Works great. I had no problem aiming or moving the camera.
Only thing that I hate is the wheel scrolling on the binoculars. 300 scrolls to zoom 1 inch. Very annoying. Had to start using the toggle zoom because of that. Ground Zeroes worked much better on that point.
SO true, and I'm glad someone finally said it. I still equip it just for last resort, since other arm functions layer over it, but at best, I only expect to stun two lone guys one at a time via straight shots. If I try to chain them, after the first one I'm struggling to find another and get disoriented.
Mouse would be MUCH better indeed. I'd love to see someone make a mod for it, but I get the feeling it's coded so it only works halfway well via analog sticks. For instance in GTA V, I thought steering the heli via mouse would be better once I found out you could, but it wasn't really. Too twitchy.
It depends a LOT whethwer you're comparing stealth shots you have time to line up, or open combat shots, where you have to react quickly. At the latter a mouse destroys a gamepad.
