How do you roll?

I really like playing this game with gamepad controls, so when it said to tilt the left stick right or left and then push it in, it doesn't matter what I try, the bastard stands up from the prone position and gets ready to sprint instead of just rolling. Been playing the entire game wtihout rolling now.

Lie down, aim, press L3 and tilt it.

If you mean rolling like in previous MGS games.... well,you can't.
