Are boasters bad?

Since my scanner is the best I can see A+ people now, but some are boasters, is that bad to have at mother base? Even though they don't seem to cause any trouble like troublemakers do? I'm just wondering since it says they kinda hype up their skills when in reality they are less than they say they are.

Boasters are the ones whose skill bars are all the way up with a "?" underneath when scanned. That's the only difference to ordinary soldiers.

Boasters hide their stats , so if you see a booster who has mostly e+d and in 2 categories , for e.x combat+medic a S or S+ then those are most likely false (not always, but pretty often)

Once you get them back to mother base you can see their real stats. Boastinf only applies to the binoculars.

Extract them all if they look interesting and fire them if they still don't look good back at mother base.

Boasters tell fake stats when you scan them with the scanner, however, once you've researched the best scanner (S++) you also reveal skills which lets you know they are a Boaster and will see their true stats, prior to researching the best scanner you will only see their true stats after extracting them and inspecting them on the motherbase.

Boasters fake their stats when scanned with any scanner.

Besides than that, there is not really a reason not to take them, I think of them as a shot at luck, if they are bad later, I can always dismiss them anyway.

Boasters fake their stats way higher on fobs(if it's as example a boaster with b in combat it will be listed as an a++ and A and up are listed as s++ for enemies in fobs)

Which makes no difference at all because you shoot down anything in fobs. Maybe if they would redo fobs so that you actually could do them with tranqs it !could! be usefull but in the end this trait is completly bs.

You just kill everything that walks after the first platform is done with stun grenades and don't mind at all.

As you can see both the rank and the bars are identical on both shots, next time do some research before you claim something's incorrect.
This is exactly the kind of misinformation OP was about, smartasses who spew ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ without anything to back it up with.

Hey, thanks for posting that. I was wondering if the best scanner would show their true stats or not, since you know at that point that they're exaggerating. Could've been nicer about sharing the information, but thanks anyway.

Thanks anyways. And no, it was a necessary evil, nothing pisses me off more than ignorant wiseasses who thinks they know something and can't even prove it's true and instead have to resort to claiming the other person is incorrect.
I actually test things before I make claims, it's pretty dumb to just go around spewing crap without proof.
