Anyone else shoot Quiet?

Her entire character is based around exploitation and I'm glad I could kill her without having her be in the game for more than 1 mission :)

And yes, I've read up on her backstory and stuff. Still no interest in having her.

Woah, didn't mean to spur social commentary. The way she's dressed doesn't offend me or make me uncomfortable. Her characterization is ♥♥♥♥ing atrocious and is just an excuse to have an oversexualized female shoehorned to fill a pivotal (?) role in the game. But the story is such a mess anyways that having such a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ character featured prominently really doesn't matter I guess. Ooh. controversial.

lol So because they have a guy doing a poop joke and Miller on the beach in a speedo, they're not objectifying women with Quiet despite the fact that she's frolicking in the rain in nothing but her undies and shoving her ass in the players face in the ACC? The difference between men and women being sexualized in MGS is that while the women are indeed being highly sexualized for the titillation of straight male gamers, the 'sexualized' men are in fact being portrayed merely as cheap comedy.

Quet's character is your standard sexualized female nerd magnet, while I do like her abilities in the field, her appereance (her clothes) are a sad addition and do i no way further any respect for the character, she basically looks like a street hooker with a sniper rifle, and the explanation of her breathing/feeding through her skin is a total cop-out by Mr. Kojima.

Joosten's portrayal of Quiet is refreshing though, she has more human traits due to the face capture/motion capture of a real model/actress and this saves her partially, but the way she is exploited is in no way a sign of respect towards the female demography.

I know Japan has a pornographic subculture (Hentai/Rape galore!) while still retaining a respectful and honorable cultural traits, but a female can be just as beautiful and attractive and not flash her ass in fishnet stockings and a bikini infront of the player each minute in the chopper. If she was given more screentime and a more robust story/character development I would have missed her more after mission 45...

Well, if you want a guy portrayed in a similar manner as Quiet is... There is always Vamp... Going pretty much all of MGS 2 without a shirt, posing in a questionable manner whenever he could... But you'll probably ignore him as he's a guy.

Well he did have pants on for starters, and he didnt flip around in a pool of water or sitck his butt in the players face while wearing only his undies. And posing in a questionable manner? Really? You're really reaching there. It's funny how hard you're trying to sexualize male characters when they're not. And please tell me the game where Vamp was in a feature like this one.
