About the horn's size [No Spoiler]
Ok so I have noticed, maybe its obvious for some of you, that the horn's size varies depending on your actions, the thing is right now it's huuge and it is really upsetting me, as all the decisions ive made were "the good ones" yet it's true I like letal weapons rather than non-lethal ones. My question here is: what do I have to do to make it smaller and what do I have to avoid doing to not make it bigger. I once had it big and make it small becuase I spent like an hour saving children but I'd like to now exactly the things that have impact on the horn's size. Sorry for my english, it's been a long time since the last time I had to speak it. Thanks.

We have at least 20 threads about this.
Be the bad guy, it gets bigger.
Be the good guy, it gets/stays small/er.

You should know that killing stuff is bad.
The rough overview is killing stuff= horn grows, fultoning everything thats not nailed hard enough to the ground = horn gets smaller.

Ha... I love the "Good guy", "Bad guy" arguments in games. So if I kill someone trying to kill me or a prisoner I am helping escape, I am a bad guy. If I shoot a child leveling a gun at me I am a bad guy, If I kill the guy training child soldiers I'm a bad guy. Remember when tapping a button snapped a Genome soldier's neck? Remember when Snake killed boss after boss? What happened, if you're skilled you can get through mission after mission just knocking them out but why bother researching grenade launchers, and sniper rifles? These are all weapons... meant to kill, tools designed to inflict maximum damage, maim and are measured by just how well they do it. The horn thing is ridiculous why doesn't he have it filed down or cover it with a metal cap, why isn't there an option to reset it like the "Chicken Hat" resets enemy cameras, snipers and the like?

I wanna know how to make it bigger though.
Because If I can't kill the soldiers, I might at least have fun.

This thread should be called "fun with Big Bosses's amazing horn".

The horn changes size??? I never noticed that.

I thought it only does so maybe twice, during cutscenes. That horn is so lame... XD Maybe someone can mod in Ground Zeroes Snake into Phantom Pain? That would be kinda cool.

Yes, killing is bad, it doesn't mather who you kill and what are the circumstances.

You were also able to just knock them out, you didn't even have to kill the bosses if you were using tranquilizers. Also, killing soldiers in MGS1 resulted in a cutscene where psycho mantis would tell you how much YOU were the bad guy because you enjoyed killing, and you were also not able to get the highest ranks such as Big Boss or Gray Fox ranks.

There are grenade launchers that launch smoke, stun, and sleeping grenades. My sniper rifle shots tranquilizer rounds. There's also assault rifles that shoots stun rounds and can even be used to break lights. There is soooo much weapons meant to NOT kill anyone in this game, and you don't have enough time to develop every weapon in only one playthrough, so it's your call if you decide to focus on the development of lethal weapons.

This horn is not just a piece of metal, it's a symbol, it reflects how Venom feels about himself, so it would be a nonsense to allow player to simply reset it's size or to remove or cover it.

As for how to get rid of it, just fulton prisonners and animals, and steal then dispose of rival FOB's nukes, and even some achievements will make your horn smaller easily (finding every animal, level up your relationship to 100% with any of your buddy, complete Paz quest, complete every mine disposal side ops.)

As far as i know building a nuke increases devil points by a tremendous amount, while extracting children helps the most to get rid of them.
Also shooting wounded, helpless enemies seems to be worse than simply shooting them during combat.

What i know nothing about is how devil points are affected by buddies or by other means of killing. Like drowning or throwing enemies to death.

There's a list somewhere, but as for creating nukes I believe it was;

Create Nuclear Weapon = 50,000 Demon Points.
Disposing of (6?) Nuclear Waste = 50,000 Hero Points.

50,000 Demon Points will turn Snake into "Demon Snake" which will have the shrapnel grow to the maximum amount, along with having blood constantly on him.

Edit: Guide on Demon Points[www.gamefaqs.com]. Found it, but be careful as it'll most likely include some type of spoilers.

Keep in mind that winning Heroism points does not always mean losing demon points, for instance, when you earn the achievement "Hero" for finishing mission 30 and having more than 150.000 Heroism points, you earn 30.000 heroism points but your demon points stays the same.

Yes it's hard to lose demonic points actually, after I build a nuke I became a demon, took me like 5 days doing missions without killing anyone anymore(same with FOB, so hard not to kill anyone!) and farming the white mamba rescuing kids to go back to normal, what a trip! Hell was fun but too much blood is messy !

It took me a little more than 1 hour... Just do the white mamba mission and extract every child, it's -120 Demon point for each child and I think there is around 20 child in this mission, so it's around -2.000 demon point each time you repeat this mission, and it's a short one.
