METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN

Why are there two MGSV games?
Phantom pain an Ground Zeros both call themselves Metal Gear Solid V. Why? Which one is the real 5th game?

GZ was a prologue to TPP released a year before

Also Ground Zeroes was a tech demo, meant to appease the build up of static energy fans can create over time, which can build up to lethal levels.

Everyone says it was a "demo", it was not a demo...

It was a proof of concept.
Each mission in GZ was like one of the different approaches you can have in TPP

Yes, "money". That must be why I got GZ for free when I bought TPP right? "Money".

KONAMI hates the Videogame inderstry, they just wanna more focus the money on HealthCare/Casino Business.

and squeeze Kojima&employeer's throat.

search the Chairman of the konami, 'Kagemasa Kozuki'.

I called it a tech demonstration. I didn't mean to imply it was a preview or something for free. It was merely meant in that it was released as a little treat for the people patiently waiting, so they could see what was liked, what wasn't liked and gauge a reaction. I know they made changes to Phantom Pain based on suggestions they collected from it, such as dumpsters and toilets being usable.

But yeah. Small amount of content, lower price to compensate for it, showing off the Fox Engine and getting an idea of what they were doing right/wrong...I'd say that's a tech demo to me.

The first launch of Ground Zeroes wasn't free my friend. For 6 min gameplay

You refering to speed runs?
My point is that GZ was to make money, is just a prologue, nothing more than that, making hype and expectations to buy TPP one year later (nowadays)

Then theres people who think that GZ was great.
I do LOL. GZ was great. But that doesn't change the fact that Konami just wanted to make some extra money before the full release. It's like making a DLC introduction before the final game

It's a demo and proof of concept, you can't just draw a diagram or write a 200-page document to prove how software works, also GZ is used to gather feedbacks of the engine so devs can make the launch more smooth.

They are the first two parts of a four parts game.
MGSV had that much to tell.

Nah... But do you imagine...?

Is it bad to make money off good products tho?

People get mad if anyone makes any money these days.

While there is about the same amount of game as in most full games coming out these days in Ground Zeroes, it was primarily a glorified tech demo for TPP... It exists to explain the plot between Peace Walker and TPP and to show off the new Fox Engine.

Without the side missions, its about an hour long...
