Birthday event question
At the very beginning of the game you are asked when your b-day is. Anyone can confirm what will happen if you play the game on your b-day?

you get a cutscene, and you dont have to play the game on your birthday. if you redo the prologue you can change your birthday to whatever the current day is and it'll work

Meh, nice gimmick, not like every game acknowledges your birthday.

On 12th of march I will boot up this game, watch the cutscene, and be happy that at least my virtual friends remember my b-day. Then I will take D-dog for a walk around Afghanistan. We will play fetch with the soldiers. Then I will take Quiet for a romantic get-away in Africa. Sniping together like two lovebirds is out favourite past time.

When Quiet is asleep, I will take D-Walker out of the garage. Poor thing would probs be rusted by then. Ill apply some oil on it, gently, and run it through the dusty roads of.....Afganistan again I guess.

I will end my birthday with taking D-Horse and making him d-deficate his d-poop on the roads, and watch the cars spin out of control. I will laugh, remember the good times, as I light up my fake cigar. And ride off into the sunset.

Cant wait

In MGS2, soldiers had dog tags, with a date of birth on them. If your internal date was the same as their date of birth, and you looked at them with the binoculars and pressed Triangle/Y it would say HAPPY BIRTHDAY above their head. If you set your date of birth to the same day when using that node computer thing also, a picture of a birthday cake would appear.

It's cool they've done stuff like this. They've always...well, usually...been quite good with player interaction. Leaning on the fourth wall type stuff. Reading your memory card. And in MGS1, during the torture scene where you have to hammer the buttons to survive, if you call Naomi later she'll offer to help you recover from the pain...by telling you to put your controller on your wrist and then it'll vibrate for 20 seconds, to massage it. This kind of stuff was ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ genius...but it's almost like the inspiration is gone.

Anyway, a useless post...but I felt like sharing

She didn't leave for good. Just went to hunt down all the cigars in Afghanistan for your Bday present.

Spoilers regarding cigars and the vape pahntom pain cigar thingy
I always thought that it was interesting how the real BB loves cigars but, aside from this scene, you usually smoke the phantom cigar. Is this a clue somehow or am I overthinking it?

Yeah, those hidden little things is what's missing from this game. The lack of Codec convo's about jacking off in a locker while on a mission...it's just not the same.

You play as the Medic from GZ, not the real Big Boss.
