Best way to farm S soldiers.
So i just found out the best way to farm S soldier. Play mission 48 Code Talker extreme. But i dunno if it works on mission 28, its the same mission didnt try yet so i cant confirm on this. But if u play mission 48 after u get to code talker and need to carry him out drop him instantly there in the cellar. After that run out and kill all 4 skulls. I did it with Brennan LRS-46 sniper. And dont mind the soldiers they dont do much damage. After u kill all 4 skulls u have about 5 min to fulton them all. Dont forget to run down to the river there r more soldiers too. U have enough time to run down to the river and go all the way up to the villa up to the mountain. Theres enough time. Thats the result from how many i fulton.

28 S soldier
26 A++
13 A+

I play this mission like 5 times, now i have like 140 S soldiers not including some i had before.
Thats the best way to farm S soldiers. My lvl units went all the way up from lvl 78 to 84.

Not bad, they can be random though. I farmed some S ranks also during Mission 12, since you spawn right next to two potential S ranks and can hit the intel file after extracting, restart and refresh to get more. A little tedious when you don't get S ranks or get stuck with Boasters though.

Most of my S ranks came from that mission (I forget the name) where you have to locate the ZRS secret meeting, in that little swamp valley thing, if you recall. It has a gunship flying around and you have to extract the commander...there's like three 4x4's there when the meeting begins. I noticed a lot of the soldiers there had S rank stats, and a sleep gas dispersal followed by zealous use of the Airshock Rasp got them all quickly.

Thanks for the post by the way, I'll check it out when I can. I've been looking for a reliable farm for them and I had a feeling the methods I used weren't the top end one anyway. It's great Miller automatically kicks out lower tier soldiers too, because I'm right on top of having the maximum amount of soldiers all the time (something like 30 spaces free when there's no new ones kicking around) so auto dismissal of the S ranks would really suck.

Also I'm pretty sure Extreme saturates the world with more higher tier soldiers than regular missions. I've recently been task hunting, and Traitors Caravan on Extreme it seemed like all the soldiers in the last camp had an S rank in something. So Extreme missions are probably the way to go, for sure. You can simply sprint by the Skull Snipers on Code Talker, right?

Yes but about that number. I even once fultoned 31 S soldiers. Sometimes 25. But thats still pretty much.

Cyanx, I can't believe you posted a superb hint that ain't trolling! ;)

Thanks for this.
Bookmarked.

You know I didn't progress with the game (stopped at mission 40) to make sure Quiet is not goner so I can't do that mission yet. Unless someone finds nonmodded way to return quiet back.

But I'll replay mission 28 and post what comes out of it.

If you equip the butterfly emblem, she will never leave, but supposedly (I don't know for sure) the second you swap to something else, she's gone. In order to get the butterfly emblem, you have to do any mission and get the butterfly rank once. To get it, just let her do most of the work. You can mark enemies and fulton, but let her do most of the shooting, and you'll get it. You can go back and replay one of the early missions if you want, although I did the extreme mission of fighting the Skulls at the airport and somehow got butterfly even though I used Walker Gear.

ya the only cons of this is actually that u cant change it later ur emblem otherwise quiet will leave. But i even did this mission with quiet so its save just to put the butterfly emblem on.

Didn't someone figure out a way to edit the save file to re-enable Quiet anyway?

na i dont mod its pretty gamebreaking.

I would suggest refining this topic and make it into a guide.

Vs. keeping a cosmetic emblem up that achieves the same result...
(Basically saying the mod just lets you customize your emblem again and keep Quiet... that's not gamebreaking, lol)

Some people said it ruin their save. Keeping the butterfly emblem is the same anyway. I dont really care about not playing mission 45 and side op 150.

I'm at work so can't see the video, but the soldiers get perma stunned and you don't have to worry about the 5 minute limit.

I do it a little different.

1. Kill only 3 skulls.
2. Go full stealth and go get code talker. It can be a pain getting out the front door of the mansion, but put him down nearby and lead the puppets away and you won't have a problem.
3. Once out of the mansion, I put him under the bridge at the exit to the map.
4. Go kill the last skull. (She will usually be near the bridge and rarely back in the jungle, if she doesn't spawn run to the mansion and back again)
5. Ta-da! All of those puppet soldiers are perma stunned and you can take as long as you like.

I only now need A++ soldiers and above and usually extract about 55 A++ and 6 S ranks, but I think it depends on how developed your base staff are (My base is fully developed and every department is circa level 50 and heroism is 250k. I have no FOB, so that is holding me back).

There is no video.
The stun effect lasts as Cyanx noticed - about 5 minutes. Not only in this mission but in every other too where skulls turn people into "puppets". But it's enough to collect all of them.
Thanks for the idea how to weed skulls and grab medaled soldiers easier!

One thing more. S soldiers at the battlefield do not care for level of your departments. Apparently only motherbase level (4/4) and your game progression counts for their appearance.
