i got the legacy collection with all the metal gear solid games.

i played metal gear solid 2 and 3, now i am wondering if that's enough to understand ground zeroes and metal gear solid 5.

it's not that i don't want to play peace walker but if the game's story isn't that important then i would just play that later.

the road to metal gear solid 5 is long, is it worth it? XD!

it is basically MGS5 but on a smaller scale.

thats actually quite accomplishment for a handheld game.

Also, you can coop the campaign with a friend if you want to.

4 player coop for boss fights if I recall.

i didnt enjoy it that much while being alone; absolutely loved to play that game with friends

okay i will play peace walker then.

also played the first chapter of mgs 4, but will skip that for now since i just really want to go further with big boss's story.

(will probably play mgs 4 later,controls were already better then mgs 3 so that's a plus)

Talking about Peace Walker prompted me to dig out the PSP I adopted from a friend a while ago.

I can really recommend switching to the shooter control config. It plays pretty much the same as MGSV that way (given the PSP only has one analog nub). What an impressive game for a decade old handheld..!

Damn I fear I will sink some time into the PSP version in the next weeks... what version will you play? Lets compare notes about it sometime, if you want ;)

Story-wise, you need to play MGS 3: Snake Eater, then Peace Walker, and then Ground Zeroes. MGS V follows from there.

Yeah, MGS3 has the best story of them all. I just couldn't get behind the controls. It was too overloaded and complex. I ended up watching a playthrough on youtube.

Not a bad way to experience the cutscene heavy Metal Gear games, tbh.

you can watch peace walker full movie on youtube and i highly recommend do it before proceeding on MGS V because %80 of MGS V story is based on peace walker.

You don't have too but if you really enjoy the story so far and want to get the most out of it I would say go for it.

I would just watch the "movie" on youtube, Peace Walker is trash tier IMO, even the cutscenes are terrible, the comics delivery is just bad.

hmm... you must never played mgs1 nor reading the visual novel. that "comics delivery" you're talking about is actually one of the most recognizable characteristic of the mgs series.
