Xbox One controller keeps disconnecting
Bought one of these a few weeks ago to play MGS V on PC. It worked flawlessly at first (for a week I would say) but since a few days I'm getting random disconnects. It's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ annoying. I have to plug it out and on again for it to work again and even that doesn't even work all the time. Drivers are up to date.
PC is brand new, USB ports are working perfectly for other uses. Somehow I think it's more MGS related, most of the time it happens in the main menu (after the credits when you launch the game), or the pause menu (not idroid, the select one), or the death screen menu... doesn't happen much in game but sometimes it happens too.

Wired pad. Also when I try to touch the cable it keeps reconnecting/disconnecting... I haven't done anything with it, maybe it's a little tangled but it's basically brand new

Hi Albion,

I had the same problem with my PS dual shock 4. and found out it was the connexion to the controller that was faulty. I changed to a new usb cable and the problem went away. Hope this helps.
Mark.

Ok I can now confirm it'll only work when the cable is put in a very particular way which is impossible to maintain (basically the middle of the cable has to be in the air)

The ♥♥♥♥ is this with this low quality cable

Thanks for the answer. Do I have to buy a generic USB "female" cable ?

My controllers works but some buttons are mapped incorrectly... like I press x and it does what x and y suppose to do as if I double press x and y at the same time... I like to use controllers because they vibrate can someone help?

It looks like the cable is xbox one specific and not generic. I'm really on the fence about buying another one since the one only lasted for a few weeks even though I took good care of it

I have a problem as well, but my problem is that the controls go berserk... from time to time Snake will walk on its own, as if the left analog stick got stuck in a position. Some other times the camera will go nuts. This doesn't happen when I use the controller on other games; Dirt Rally for example. PC is up to dates including Xbox One Controller drivers.

I had this exact same issue with the Xbox One controller. Microsoft ended up being willing to replace the controller for free, even though it was a gift someone bought for me, and I had no receipt. You should consider contacting their customer support, they're a lot more friendly and willing to help than you would expect to get from a big soulless corporation.

The Micro USB format port itself is very flimsy, this is a known design flaw, the controller works fine wireless, but there is no wireless adapter for PC. So you just gotta be careful and hope you don't break something in the weak ass USB port.
