METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN

METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN

PlayStation Navigation Controller + XPadder issues?
So I was able to get Windows to recognize the navigation controller as a XBOX 360 controller using SPC DS3.

My issue now is that I'm having DOUBLE inputs on the trigger for MGS5 Phantom Pain.

I set trigger as shift to run with XPADDER. In game, it ends up doing both the original 360 input and shift. A lot of issues are occuring randomly.

Anyone know a fix? Can I

1. Disable the XBOX controller and still use XPADDER? This would also give me the home button to use.
2. Disable controllers in the .ini file of MGS5?

Is there a simpler fix? Thanks in advance.

There is an easy fix, stop using xpadder. The game already supports controllers.

That's not a solution to my problem. I am using the navigation controller in my left hand and a mouse. But thank you for your time.

Will InputMapper not work for what you are using to play? Because I'm using my PS4 controller, through my BT dongle, just fine with no issues.

Oh, I see what you're doing now. There's no way to get the game to not recognize the controller unless you find a way to make the controller work without acting like a 360 controller.

I know that people have gone into the .INI file in other games and just set joypad = 0 instead of 1 or something like that. I just can't find the MGS5 .INI file.

Try adding it and see what happens.

I don't know why you'd assign the trigger as run. Just use the left stick button COD style. But whatever. I haven't tried using NAV+mouse, but if I were to do so, I would use Better DS3 to reassign the buttons on the NAV controller. For example, you want LEFT TRIGGER to be the run button, so assign LEFT TRIGGER as LEFT STICK BUTTON. No need to assign keyboard controls to the controller.

Just a note. I had to use MotioninJoy to install the driver in order to use Better DS3.

No, you never have to use motioninjoy. Get that malware off your computer.

The point is the trigger button isn't working well at all, everything else works fine except the trigger.

Metal Gear doesn't seem to like controller and m+kb inputs at the same time. I use a controller, and sometimes if I accidentally move my mouse, one of the analog sticks will stop responding.

I don't use xpadder, but if you can set your NAV as entirely keyboard/mouse input instead of xinput, then you should just do that and remap all the NAV buttons to the keyboard. You'll lose the analog movement sensitivity though.

Yeah, I can't even open the Steam overlay without running into problems.

Xpadder does that for me. Right now the analog is set to WASD keys, the other navi buttons are set to keyboard commands as well. I'd just hate to lose the trigger button because my mouse only has 4 extra buttons I can use which I need them all.

I think the issue is the game itself. It wont' let me override the trigger button due to the native controller settings.

Okay, I'll try and use a navi/mouse setup using Better DS3 to see if it works. I'll be back with the results.

Alright, tried it with Better DS3. No issues. Must be something with xpadder.
