The missles are ground only from what i've seen but against a heavily armored hind your helicopter will survive as long as you back it up. If you are far enough you can fire rockets at the hind without being detected so it will just take the hit while still targeting your helicopter. His miniguns will finish it off.
And I've only ever seen Pequod shoot at the end boss...
Hell they can use a tank to pull a trailer and call it an APC if they want.
If you call it in on your location, yeah he just waits for you to jump on. If you select a target (whatever you've marked) he'll come in and kill it with awesome.
The dual AS missiles do a number on tanks, but won't destroy them outright. The rocket volleys do a ton of damage and are fun to watch.
Against enemy hinds best just hit it yourself. 1 recoiless rifle round will do the trick if you want to remain undetected otherwise about 1 mag from your LMG will toast the Hind.
Note: the rockets you pick up from soldiers are less powerful than the ones you can have dropped in. If you can half aim the Recoiless Rifle (aka Carl Gustov) is all you need for any of your mechanized problems.
The Mi-24 is a transport. It's also a gunship. The Mi-8 is a transport. It's also used as a gunship. The UH-60 is a transport. It's also used as a gunship.
And the only thing the F-35 is classified as is a jobs program and overpriced paperweight.
yup, I am not 100% sure on the range but for the most part its been that for me too.
