Anyone here hates the design of Mother Base??
Seriously why the hell there are no elevator in that place!!

Seriously why cannot i use Dwalker in that place to travel. Bonus how about the horse to travel. I know there are vehicles and card board fast travel but it looks silly the Big boss is hitch a ride in a card board box in his own base.

Seriously why the hell i cannot customize the mother base in the mother base instead go to the helicopter?

Also mother base felt so empty, why the hell there are supply truck roaming around, d walker patrols and vehicle patrol in that base. Yes there are patrols but how the hell no ones guarding the bridge. Yes i know Ai vehicles in this game have limitation due i followed some vehicle sometimes it could be bug out it could the reason no vehicle patrols in the base.

I get it motherbase are purely cosmetic and FOB but they could add some convenient in that place like freaking elevator.

they spent the elevator budget on those Anime Paz pictures.
You can use boxes to get around platforms. i thought this was common knowledge by now. Ocelot or kaz even explains it early in the game. There is a supply area at the end of each strut that allows you to travel between platforms as a form of fast travel.

OP did mentioned the card board, the issue OP mentioned was more like 'vertical' problem and 'customize ability problem(sandboxy, freedoms of design)'

Just like I used mistakens the system that I can custom everything, or at least the platform coordinates, but the result is I can only upgrade it and it adds more platform automatically, maybe just I played too many sandboxy games recently xD

Is it faster than that tourist operator helicopter pilot who takes the longest possible scenic route to each helipad?

There are jeeps parked around the place but honestly driving from platform to platform takes an age - just get in your box it's the best way. As for getting up and down you can use the ducts to get up and then just jump and grab on ledges to get back down.

Mother Base would have been a more interesting place if you had more control over how the platforms connect and where things go. Especially for FOBs, that would offer more tactics for creating a defensible platform.

Yeah:

I remember the Mother Base introduction video where they sold us on the idea that each Mother Base will be special, implying that we can change the structure to suit ourselves. But in reality, the most we get are palette swaps and the # of security components available. I could see why they kept the design today because they had to balance between familiarity and uniqueness for players don't get lost. This is further reinforced by the fact the next update allows us to control where we place our security components.

I don't imagine anybody likes mother base: hideous architect-school reject design, impossible to navigate even on your own base, easy to get lost, and hours driving thru ugly, lengthly longness.

I wish they'd just given the option to costomize our own base. At least we'd have nobody to blame but ourselves for whatever happens there.

Mother Base design may look a bit inconvenient, but there are reasons for that:

FOB balance - not to make places where people can pwn and cover all platforms with sniper fire, second one includes time balance, not to make a platform to easy for rush, and from the other hand, we don't wanna stay there forever.
Elevators are redundant, there are not too many floors so it's not needed to implement mechanic, even if it's hard for some Ace soldier to keep his finger on W button.
