i will never again purchase a Konami product, time to fight back with our money.
caring or not. yes ME3 got still slide show. but the mission 51 is atleast half way there. and camp omega is already there. nothing to be changed there except add soldiers and a objective or 2. voice overs are already done. it wouldnt take forever to make.
it looked like a lot of that cutscene was just made up of re-used block in assets for Africa. It looked rough and not polished at all. Environment art assets aside though, they'd still have to do:
- All the voice acting for different languages.
- Level design.
- Q & A and focus testing (I noticed in the credits that they credited 3 separate focus testing groups, so its obviously a big thing to them).
- Additional design and writing for extra side-ops and additional missions because one extra mission wouldn't warrant a whole new map.
I don't see this happening at all, especially as its Konami. I mean, we're talking about a studio too stupid to try and hang on to Kojima, the guy resposible for their last real standout series; and a studio that sends its developers to run bloody pachinko parlours. What does that tell you?
Mission 51 wasn't even close to half way. The cinimatic itself is labled as "30% complete".. The game or level probably couldn't have been more than a graphic with stage actors floating around on it.. maybe not even that with interviews saying the game was "complete" as of early 2015.
For Ground Zeroes' Camp Omega, I have no doubt a modder at least will try to put it in (insertion by helicopter might turn out hard to do.. but they might be able to skip it and just 'plop' you into the game) It would neet.. But to just RIP one map and put it in the new game? I wouldn't support that and I strongly doubt the community would take it postivily. Ground Zeroes is like, 10 dollars, $2 on sale sometimes. The DLC would be 10 or even more.
Again. This should be a call out from Modders to do this. Between legal issues and how ♥♥♥♥♥♥ KONAMI is.. The lack of a team anymore and so on and so forth.. Even the passionate developers can't do anything.
voice acting is alreayd done. the soldiers reuse the same lines all the time. so nothing new to add there. voice acting for the characters is also already done. the mission 51 has all the voice content already there.
the testing yes that would cost them ofcourse but the remaking of a map for just that mission. i disagree. they dont NEED to at this point anymore. they could just reuse a part of africa and done. personally just want the damned cut content back to us. so many promises made and content shown in trailers and such but about 80% of all that was promised is there. the ending (final boss battle) should have been in there. its just a huge disappointing slap in face to just end it the way it did.
Yeah, re-using part of Africa would make a lot of sense.
Not sure if all the VA was done. We only saw the english version, right?
There was a whole lot of missing lip syncing too. I'm not involved in animation at all, so I don't really know how long that'd take em.
and yeah, it does feel like a slap in the face. Once the awesome wore off around mission 26 or so the game went from a 10 in my book to an 8 or 9.
Thennn they will come crawling back to us, wishing they'd never fired Kojimer.
To have a person like Kojima and end up losing him, it shows how broken Konami's leadership became.
They had the oportunity, the IPs, the people, and still failed.
