About the event that happens at Mission 26
Ok, so your MB staff get sick. I saw the pattern of Kikongo, and tried to put as many as I could. But I had 700 staff by then, and not being 100% sure, I only quarantined a handful off the most important guys who have the language. Anyway eventually the game automatically quarantines most of them.

My question about this is, does everyone lost a substantial number of staff? I lost 150-200 staff members out of 700. And the Kikongo guys are highly skilled since you meet them later in the game only.

So I lost about 20-25% of my staff to this..is it normal? Was there anything I could have done to save things? As far as I can tell, it didn't infect non Kikongo guys so perhaps my effort to isolate it worked to some degree.

Thanks!

If you let them auto quarantine them then more will die cause once the blisters show they aren't healing from that.

I lost 17 soldiers total. I quarantined over 300 people at start, and then done 2 or 3 main missions to find a cure.

I quarantined ALL Kikongo staff, one by one, it took me probably 15 minutes of weeding them out.
There were cca 250 of them with Kikongo out of them 700.

Also, when certain ppl were out of the brig in next few missions till I found the cure, I quarantined them immediately if they were Kikongo speakers.

The total? Only those who were first infected, IIRC 8 of them, died. A few of them died soon after the infection started, and then one or two per each mission (I've avoided side missions!).
Everyone else survived.

Damn ♥♥♥♥ man. It was so hard to select the Kin
Kongo guys.

How many did you lose, assuming you didn't know how to counter this event before hand?

The thing that pisses me off is, Kaz keeps asking in the radio, Boss did you find out what's causing it. I mean, the game should auto detect if I'm only transferring Kikongo guys, after say 20 consecutive correct transfers, transfer the rest automatically. What a ♥♥♥♥ up. Now my RnD from 43 is down to 31. ♥♥♥♥ man.
The soldiers who are auto-quarentined are so because they started showing symptoms. By that time it is too late to save them. If you quarentined them all you wouldnt have lost nearly as much.

I didn't know what the cause was for at least 2 missions and because of that I lost close to 150 people when I had only 400-500.

Afair it was Ocelot that did the talking, and if you quarantine enought people he will tell you that you helped a lot, and epidemic shouldn't progress as fast.

Yes eventually he did tell that, but that was two missions later when so many wee dying I came back to quarantine even more Kikongo. He said something like "the spread is under control".

With 1050 soilders I had no reliable fast way to sort through that many people besides checking each one individually. Even rushing the missions went down at least 80 staff. Probably more.

I had 1280-ish soldiers
boy, that was the most boring 25 minutes of my life, just going down the list 4 times just to make sure I got them all, and then writing down the prisoners names for when they got out

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ terrible thing to add when you have a huge motherbase

So did you know for certain it was Kikongo? Or did you get it from some guide or read about it online somewhere? Must've required some conviction that to go that far.

Some people claim that it is other languages besides Kikongo but it seems like its Kikongo every time.

itsdefenitly only kikongo.

in you quarentine all kikongo talkers (had to sort through 1000+ staff including wating room x.x) you get a confermation message after closing your idroid.

Gonna skip the bullcrap of "spoilers" because there is a cutscene that confirms it's always Kikongo....not that it's really a spoiler but some people go crazy over smaller details. 100% always Kikongo.
