For weapon customization, finish the Legendary Gunsmith side ops
For the better suppressors, you need to keep researching weapons as you are. That's what unlocks more attachments and attachment points for weapons. The better suppressors are usually very high tier, chances are you will be close to the end of the game before you get a better suppressor.
However. If you are willing to do some BASIC text editing in .LUA you can make ANYTHING you want by making your OWN guns via modding the gamedata files. Once I am done experiencing the game I plan on making a GRENADE launcher attachment for my .45 pistol that shoots sheep. Or maybe Quiet's. One of the two.
This really blows.. I thought there was some gunsmith you get who lets you make silencers and stuff for any type of guns or he can just upgrade a silencers strength for any gun that has one.. The silencers are so damn broken. It takes away from any realism when a silencer breaks in 8 shots. A real silencer could shoot tons of shots. At least have the basic one be able to shoot 20-30. All we are going to do is a ammo supply drop anyways, it's just pointless and time consuming to have to drop a silencer halfway into a mission. I even try to not use my gun that much b/c of how annoying it is.
You can still swap around various parts, but you still need to upgrade weapons to do so. If the gunsmith bypassed this, then weapon upgrades would be useless to do. Yo can still create neat combinations, including getting snipers with crazy high ammo counts, and even getting pistols as underbarrel attachments.
Silencers breaking is a gameplay balance thing more than anything. Having an un-breakable suppressor (which you can actually get for pistols late game) would make stealthing pretty easy.
And if we're talking realism, Silencers and Suppressors are 2 different things and require special ammunition to work to boot.
Yeah, but your just going to do a supply drop and get another silencer anyway. The amount of money you pull in just insane. I constantly have done upgrades and have so much money I don't know what to do with it. to spend just a little for another silencer to land directly on me in the middel of a mission is no big deal financially. I don't do it b/c it's annoying and frustrating waiting for a drop for a silencer.
What do you mean swap around various parts? Are you talking about something more than a pre selected weapon upgrade? Is there any customization with the weapons or is what your talking about just swapping around a part because that's what the upgrade does automatically for me? I'm wondering if there is any possible way to get actual control over the weapons and how they are? by getting a weapon smith is it going to end up allowing me to take a weapon with x attachment and remove it or add a dif one to it.
You can get a sniper with an 8x zoom scope, standard ammunition (so it holds more ammo at the cost of slightly less damage and penetration) and a shotgun attached to it, if you want.
You don't even need the gunsmith for that since the default gun has the integrated silencer. You only need the gunsmith to swap parts between guns.
You're not wrong with that. The built-in silencers are not interchangeable parts.
I don't think you're wrong with that either, sorry. Well, D-Walker can get some infinite suppressor upgrades and I believe Quiet's rifle has one, but that's it.
