I said after a few hours when I started that it looks to me as 8/10 material. And after 100 hours of it, I still think that.
It's a great game, fun, it's just not a masterpiece.
Sure, some will say it deserves 9/10 because of many things they'll number, but sorry. FOB scandal is instantly -1 if not -2 on the overall score.
The game I think is very good.
The cons being the messy FOB system, micro's, several story decisions, and the repetitive missions.
Honestly I didn't expected something special from MGS5, but the story line... The main thing is dead. Open world always kill story trying to compensate it using events or sandbox.
But this is not bad game at all. I would say it 8/10 but not 10\10 because there is no perfect games made ever. Max score in my scale it's a 9/10.
i think hideo wants to use this game to achieve his movie dream, which is unhealthy because that will cause the the game become neither fish nor flesh,it was a big problem in mgs4 and today,it is even worse.
A game isn't only judged on its core gameplay. You could do so, but it wouldn't be an unbiased review. Besides, I'd say the game becoming repetitive is a problem with the core gameplay (or sandbox games as a whole).
