METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN

How do you guys deal with those armored soldiers?
Im on this mission where like almost ever soldier is an armored soldier, you know with that op helmet. I can deal with it when there is just a few but this is impossible and they have shotguns im pretty sure

Do you mean those heavy infantry? they survive a body shot from Brennan sniper rifle, but one-shot to the head will kill them. I have had grade 5 MRS-71 sniper rifle, took around 5 shots to the head to pops their helmet.

Try sneak behind them and hold them up, I would prefer cqc them. Or knock them out with STN weapon, it seems to be very effective.

Which mission btw, not the side ops?

It's more effective if you say what exact mission you're on, as the layout of the place can make a huge difference as to what your sneak and grab options are.

Also, a tip for getting the ones patrolling in pairs is to wait until they get a ways away from the others, then sneak behind and toss a magazine about 20' in front of them, then immediately keep sneaking forward and aim your pistol at the one in the back. By the time he lays his weapon down the other one will be a ways away and you can easily sleep choke him, then go do same with the other.

Also, make sure with any armored troops when you CQC them you do it quickly. If you take too much time they can and will resist.

In some camps, finding a good perimeter structure near a single distant enemy is a good spot to do repeat lure and grabs from cover. Get to know your distances for how far away they can hear your arm knocks and magazine tosses. It's crucial in making sure you only lure one at a time.

And upgrade your Fulton as fast as you can. The higher level ones are faster, more reliable, and quieter, esp wormhole. You still have to be at least a little ways away with any version to maintain stealth though.

The only mission where there were a lot of them is that mission where you need to extract those containers in Chapter 2. Unless he's talking about the later Heavy Infantry side ops where there are a lot of them

If you're using reflex mode, you can knock them out by throwing a magazine in their face.

The ones with black and grey vs brown and green uniforms have face shields on their helmets though. The only way I ever deal with them is tactical stealth takedowns.
I'm talking about those black ones in Heavy Infantry. It probably wouldn't work on the ones in FOB.

I'm talking about the ones in the later side ops missions for heavy infantry. They wear face shields.
If you throw a magazine in their face shield they'll get knocked out.
You can kill them with your knife. You should research the AM D114-9 handgun if you haven't already. It has AP rounds that can pierce their helmets.

One simple thing: fully upgraded Snake's Rocket Arm. Just look to not hit the shield if they have one.

If they don't wear gasmasks any form of gas is effective. Flashbangs also work. And so does DD's stun attack.
Also if you have developed it Stun decoys are also effective. if landed right beside them... these guys can tend to be shoot first and questions later types but it is also a good diversion

they do it very well the brennan will take them down easy.. Thats if your intent is to kill them all
Gas greandes, any sort of decoy deploying under their feet, stun arm, rocket arm. I prefer to throw a magazine and cqc the both but that's a bit riskier.
Slit throat, air strike get a shotty to blow of the helmet, Fulton or pistol penetration
