CORRUPT GAME FILE!!???

i logedin to play some more mgs 5 and suddenly it took me back to the very beginnig of the game and i had over 85 hours on the game is there a way to fix this? This is relly sad for me because if it cant be fixed i will sadly have to abandon this game

I can't help you but everyone should make couple backups of their savegame data for cases like this one, today i got an update for the game, if u had some kind of mods it could be that i don't know.. I once got my savegame corrupted and lost only couple of hours coz i did a backup earlier, still lost some progression in the game but not all the hours invested in it, hope u sort this up or find some save with +- same % progression as you had before

Folder for the save game is at your steam folder\userdata\(userid)\311340 (thats the save data folder, just copy all files to safe place) , as u didn't had mods installed i don't know why that happen, it was the same for me i had no mods installed and got the file corrupted after i restarted the game but i solve it by using a earlier backup i had made

still not coming up :/ when i copy the location it takes me to google chrome and it sayis there was an error of some kind .Is that foldr suposed to be in my steam folder?

what is 'userid' suppose to be bc its all just a bunch of random number empty folders

I hope you at least backup your saves from now on, OP.

The good news is that your online resources should still be around. Also, mods can help you catch up to your previous progress pretty fast

I'm not looking for a sandbox experience, I enjoyed the progress of the grind.. I had a x360 save that got to like 30-40 percent of the game, then started over on PC when I moved now this.. Really trying to not give up on my save

I made sure I got all anti viruses closed completely and disabled windows' defender, didn't help. But then I remembered I got a windows backwup from a month ago, and the save files from there now work! So thank you for making me try to fix this again, as I've come to terms and told myself the save is gone for good before so.
For anyone reading this, steam>userdata>287700<local had 6 files missing. Might have been that.
