ZZZ weapons will have zero penetration or impact force, since they're basically tranquilizer darts. The Wu AP pistol is supposed to have glass penetrating rounds, but I believe I've read around here that it doesn't penetrate anything, including visored helmets of heavy infantry on the field like it should work on.
Penetration and Impact Force basically just play a role in how much damage that DMG weapons deal to targets with armor, but that could all be smoke and mirrors. Best thing to do is to take each weapon in a live fire test against your FOB and see how fast you can drop your own crew.
Don't worry, they can take it :D
One odd example though are the AP pistols that develop out of the base handgun. Those can penetrate helmets in one shot, which is better penetration performance than the sniper rifles, matched only by the Serval and Brennan.
*edit: Removed reposted information already said by Rauvoir.
Higher damage on ZZZ weapons should mean a shorter amount of time for a person to be knocked out from a non-headshot. Haven't done any fire tests to confirm it though, two body shots is usually enough to drop someone after a few seconds, and three body shots usually drops the person in the next instant.
Pretty sure the Tier 1 Reznov exemplifies this, knocking off helmets, but not going through it, meaning the soldier takes no health damage.
Thing is, Armor Plating and Helmets also seem to have health, so like pretty much all the gun, stats, they are almost entirely meaningless.
I read a post that the wu ap pistol does not pierce helmet glass. I can confirm that in my game. I do not know if I can pierce truck glass. Never been in a position to check that. I can say that I have not even a little bit of armor penetration. It does nothing to any type of armor and I've tested it against many types.
The question is if this is a bug. The graph that shows armor penetration in the development screen, is different from the loadout screen and the customization screen. Input into this would be appreciated as this gun has no practical use for me at the moment.
Tbh I'm not sure the ap effect is intended to do anything more than shoot out lights and break windows in buildings. Possibly vehicles, too but I never tested that either. If your customised wu can penetrate windows or shoot out spotlights it's working as intended, because the standard wu cannot do that.
Glass penetration is for trucks ONLY. That is NOT a bug. It's intentional.
If you want a weapon for silent ZZZ of guys in battle dress, then get the RP.
AM114RP is the full nomenclature. RP is short for Riot Pistol. It's a gas pistol that instant sleeps anything not wearing a protective mask. It's not really up the tree as much as it is a blueprint reward from an FOB Event. If it's not available to you know, just keep watching the rewards, they change every 2 weeks. It will come around again.
There's no need for all that. There's so many ways to pacify people it's ridiculous. Dev STN nades and Sleep nades and S1000STN. It's in Shotguns. Really any shootable weapon can do that tackle and hold up trick. That's the easiest to fulton staff. Although the quickest way to higher ranked staff is FOB.
