Need help with MGSV Bionic Arm upgrade.

I haven't had any problems upgrading the Bionic Arm, or anything else for that matter, until I got to the Medical upgrade.

Here's the problem, the only prerequisite left is the Medical Arm grade 1, but there is no such thing showing in the Grade 1 slot.

The upgrade in the Grade 2 slot says Medical 1, with a grade 2 star insignia showing on it, and when I click on it to upgrade, it says Medical Grade 1 required.

From what I've read, this is considered a passive upgrade, meaning it only buffs your health regen, and has no separate function.

Do I need to equip the standard Bionic Arm for the Medical upgrade to be usable? I've been switching between Stun and Rocket Arm.

I was hoping since this is a passive upgrade, I could piggy back it onto other upgrades, like Precision and Sonic do.

no its Auto does not matter which arm you use.. Not sure what your seeing

But I answered your question. You should check to see if you have the spcialist for that upgrade if your not getting it. You might have researched it but if you lose them you might lose that ability. you should lock all your specialists I do I kept losing them.
I hope this helps or I just don't get what your asking.. The upgrades are passive and does not matter which arm you equip.

It sounds like you didn't even understand the second paragraph of my post. I already said the only prerequisite left is Medical grade 1. Do you not know what prerequisite means?

I didn't even attempt the upgrade until I noticed it required the Cybernetics specialist, which I missed getting in Mission 9. So I went back and did that mission again first.

It's alright if you don't know why this is not upgrading, which is the question btw. At least you're trying to help, but please, read my posts carefully to avoid unnecessary confusion.

Erm... it's kinda hard to follow what you mean but you need the grade 1 upgrade to the stun arm before you can research medical 1 or precision 1. All you can do is recheck the requirements for rank 1 stun arm as all passive upgrades like medical or precison all require that upgrade. Then check you have the requirements for medical or precsion.

All passives you get from those two upgrades are passive and applied to all bionic arm types, Stun, Rocket, Blast etc.

That's the best I can do to help you.

Yeah I have screenies now, but IMO, the explanation was good enough for anyone that is familiar with how upgrades work in the game.

Here's the upgrade table showing I already have Stun, which is below Medical btw, and even Precision, which is above Medical. Neither should matter though since they have nothing to do with Medical, and as I said, the only thing it's asking for is Med grade 1 when I try to apply the first Med upgrade that is showing.

^As you can see, there's no Medical grade 1 showing in the grade 1 slot. Oddly enough, the one showing in the grade 2 slot says Medical 1, but has a grade 2 star insignia on it.

Here is what I see when I highlight the Medical 1 slot.

^As you can see, all criteria for the upgrade have been met, save for the game's annoying tendency to require you to buy the prior upgrade of the same type. Don't see how I can do that if it's not even showing.

^As you can see, it only says I need Medical grade one, but there's no Med showing in th egrade one slot to the left of Med 1 grade 2.

Ok I'm starting to understand what you mean.

So the grade at the top is like the tier of the item or weapon. The star insignia is the Rank of that item. For example (might be wrong, this is from memory) The grade 7 S1000 Air Stogun is a Rank 5 S1000 Shotgun. It's the 5th version of that Shotgun but is a Tier 7 weapon. The mdecial 1 is just the name of the item.

It says you can develop it so i'm really not sure why you can't. Can you show screen of what happens when you try to develop it.

Are you sure you have the bionic upgrade at the top left? I'm sure you must have because medical wouldn't show up as ready. A Strange one.

I just saw the sceond screen shot sry to be a ♥♥♥♥ but you need to develop medical 1. I think you are trying to develop medical 2 but you don't have medical 1. Medical 1 is ready to be developed. You shouldn't get that message so it's either bugged or you're trying to develop medical 2.

NO NO NO, Do you not see that I highlighted the FIRST Med upgrade showing???

I HAVE met all criteria for it (unlock symbols, see?), and mysteriously it asks for grade one to be developed, yet I'm already TRYING to develop the FIRST MED UPGRADE IN THE TABLE. Get it?

Look dude. It's asking for the grade 1 upgrade. Look at the screen. Do you see those white lines? Those are leading to the item you need to develop first. Follow the white line up to the top left. Where you'll find the grade 1 for the rank 1 stun arm as I said before.
