how do you use pills
i can equip them but cant figure out how to use them

you mean the stuff like pentazemin? you hold the item menu button select it then press the use button

While selecting the pill in the items circle you have to press 4 again. For some reason items act differently than weapons. You will know they're working because there will be a small noise and a duration bar in the pill window.

Highlight the pills when you hold the button to select items and press spacebar, at least that's how you use it for keyboard and mouse.

The pill mechanics are the absolute worst...someone should be shot.
