Stunning doesnt last as long as tranq bullets.

Lie.

All it tells you is if they were knocked out by dart guns or sleep gas (ZZZ) or stun weapons, falls, or CQC (STN).

The official stuff says that the longest one is actually the five hit CQC knockout. Real testing suggests that Tranq darts and the five hit combo both net at best a 6 minute stun.

Did I say 5 hit CQC? No I didn't. But most of the time tranq darts do better than standard cqc moves that arent the 5 hit moves. lol

If you missed while trying to stun, they'll go into alert.

When they wake up from stun, they'll go into alert.

If their mates found them stun, they'll go into alert.

None of that happens if they're tranq.

but tranq requires a headshot (or a long wait)
stun can be done instantly if you use multiple rounds

stun guns generally have better long range accuracy
if you get a reflex situation stun is better because the guns are more likely to have both silencer and scope and do not require a headshot to work within the time limit.

I think a stun also has a chance of alerting when they wake up or when someone else comes upon them. A ZZZ doesn't have that chance normally. They only exception I've seen to this is when you tranq them in front of/around others. Even then though, it isn't a 100% chance that they will alert.

From what I've noticed during my play time:

Stun:
Guard by himself - will get up and say there may be an intruder/has been attacked
Someone else sees the guard - he will wake him up and tell CQ that they have an intruder. They then go on higher alert for a short time.

ZZZ:
Guard by himself - will wake up and just go about as usual
Someone else sees him - they will wake him up, call him something and tell him to get his lazy ass up
ZZZ him with others around if he drops when others are seeing - they will be more likely to alert for a short time
ZZZ him with others around and they aren't looking directly at him - They will be surprised, but will normally ask what is wrong then wake him up. From here, it is a percentage (I'm not sure the chance) on whether they actually alert or not. I'm not even sure what determines when they will alert but I'd guess it is a combination of factors.

Tranq them " Coz its normal for them to find mates asleep in the middle of path... " XD

But yeah CQC 5hits is the highest down time, but i usually tranq them unless they are those riot armored infantry, those need sleep grenade or CQC unless u go lethal

is the stun dog worth it
the regular dog has been invlauble

no longer does a lone gaurd aproching me at the wrong moment gaurantee an alert
no longer does an gaurd in the wrong place stop me from sneaking up on a different gaurd
DanrSan Oct 30, 2015 @ 6:51pm
I use ddog as stun buddy but it ignores the command alot of times, and carefull if u put ddog in danger u may let him nearly die and it will be fulton back to base resulting in loss of heroism and gmt (and loss of bond too i forgot..)

sometimes it takes a while
also, when you get him you are told me will ignore suicidal commands
i would not be suprised if you have to treat him well (pat him often) as well.

One but BIG advantage of stun versus zzz: stuned enemy can not be awaken by enemy vehicle horn, which is very important in side ops and side objectives, while if you use zzz as soon as you desable enemy by the tank/armored vehicle, the vehicle will horn to waik em up.
