increaes ur staff stats
using ur staff in missions/fob increases their rank stats, but by how much? i raised an Eacross to a C-C-C-A+-C-C but is the jump of 2-3 stats the highest they can go?

The medals they earn by doing missions/FOB runs are what's giving them stats. They increase their stats by a small amount per medal.

There's three medals you can get: Distinguished Service, Service Cross, and Medal of Honor. You're currently getting Distinguished medals for your team by making them do missions. Service Cross is earned by rescuing your staff from dangerous situations, like Mission 22. Medal of Honor is earned by killing an infiltrator on an FOB as a defender. Gotta get the kill to get the medal, fulton'ing them doesn't award it.

Whether or not they rank up to the next rank depends on how high their stat is currently, like a naturally high S rank could turn into an S+ rank if you got him all 3 medals.

so i guess the highest this character i have can get would be C+ if i manage to get all medals. thanks

It would probably be higher. The lower the starting rank the higher the change. I believe each metal add +30 all around stats. (this isnt exact but heres the idea) E-D would be 10 difference, D-C =15, C-B=25, B-A=40, A-S=60, S-S++=85. Again these arent the exact values but you can see 30+ makes less and less of a difference as you get higher ranked characters. I dont think low S ranks can even make S++, but an E rank could make like C/B rank. Theres some places online that have the real numbers for stats, unfortunatly theres no way to tell where your stats are in game besides a bar that really doesnt compare numbers.

what ive been doing was taking low rank characters and running several fobs. they jump 2-3 stats but dont go further. i wasnt sure if that was just a max they can go but sounds like theres more to it then i thought

Do you mean playing as staff member in offline mission will also improve their stats? been using the same guy farming Metallic Archaea extreme for like 10 times and he still A+ in combat and his stats didn't change a bit lol.. I actually quite bad at reading, meaning no medals = no stat improvement?

Yeah you still only get 3 medal total. I dont believe their stats change until they have the metal either. 3 missions scoring an S rank (other ranks also help but its slower and more missions) while playing as that staff will get you a Distinguished Service metal, also can be gained from staff missions.
Pretty much if you want a perfect/max potential staff member at any rank, they need to be rescused (this is very difficult because its random and selects from a pool of all your retired/fired staff), then do 3 missions with an S rating (very easy on certain missions), then you just kill an intruder on FOB ( I usually just friend a lot of people then defend their bases from getting attacked, plus since its not my FOB, people cant get revenge or even find mine).
Currently I'm in the process of all this >_> while trying to farm the perfect base stat male/female staff.

I farm Mission 22 for my Service Crosses. It's actually fairly simple to focus on which staff you want "Cross'ed" by pushing your entire R&D team into the Waiting Room or Sickbay, and then drop the 6 people you want to get the Service Cross into R&D. Once you run Mission 22 and clear it, those guys should get the Service Cross. Note that it won't work for female staff or special staff like Gray Mongoose (the legendary gunsmith).

Distinguished Service can be done through dispatch missions, but if you need a staff member to get their medal quickly, spam Mission 4 with them. Start the mission right on the Communications Post and use the chopper's minigun to break the three antennas. Never even have to leave the chopper. Also a decent Heroism farm to boot.

Medal of Honor is strictly PvP based, so if you're constantly opening retaliatory wormholes on yourself, you'll eventually get a few of these defending your base from random revenge infiltrators. I'd prefer to defend other players for this one. Slow, but zero risk to your own base/staff.

doesnt work on females??? b-but my characters i use are ladies :< how do i get them that service cross medal :<
The_Normal_Anomaly Oct 31, 2015 @ 10:47am
Functionally, you can't get females the service cross. They would need to be abducted during FOB defense, or as the captured staff at FOB defeat. You would then need to go get them back by beating the other guy's FOB. If you didn't get a retaliation wormhole, she would pretty much be gone forever.

Do this for females. Put miller in whatever unit they are in for the morale multiplier. Find them on mother base. Get them to salute. Hop into a box and use the delivery point near the main helipad. Go anywhere on MB. Return. Go back to where she was. Get her to salute. Repeat about five times for maxed morale and a hefty stat boost. For females, its about the best you got, but it works on anyone.

cept the money cost for staff stolen if the invader does so. Unless they removed that, I haven ot defended in a long long time as all the people who seem to invade me do so when I am offline.

i can comfirm one thing though, u only get that medal in fob if you KILL the intruder. i ran to him but the npc's killed him, got no medal

another fob, ran and killed the invader, got the medal. so just being there isnt enough u got to do the dirty work

If your ladies are all locked using Direct Contract to avoid them getting killed or abducted by invaders, they can't join any dispatch missions.
