How to unlock Mission 43???

Okay, so I don't have the Butterfly emblem on. I've maybe half a dozen side ops and one or two missions without Quiet and I still havn't unlocked Mission 43. WTF!?!?! How?

Listen to your important casettes and try doing a few side ops. After finishing a few, you might trigger a sequence that will send you back to MB and unlock Mission 43.

Been doing that. Still not happening

Try doing some side ops, like 3~4, while using another buddy other than Quiet. I think I was rampaging around with a DD soldier while running with D-Dog when the trigger happened after clearing a side op at the Afghan Army base. There's a number of cutscenes that need to happen before that mission unlocks.

Yeah I've been doing sideops for the past 3-4 hours with D Dog

Did you complete all the important yellow side ops? Running out of reasons here. I think there was an important side op chain that was required before this mission could be unlocked.

welp, I'm at a loss. Only other possible reason would be completing Mission 42 without Quiet. I did that mission without her due to that bug months ago. It shouldn't be an issue now, but who knows with Konami, eh?

I'd say give it a try if you got the patience to deal with those superarmored Skulls again.

Been trying to unlock mission 43 for 3 days myself, about to give up.

I think the final plot missions require a certain amount of ops to be completed. So if you have been ignoring or not completing side ops you may need to complete more to unlock the final missions.

Listen to all important tapes and doing all important side ops are also requirements.

Only 46 requires tapes. 43 to unlock you just need to occasionally do missions, return to motherbase. You need to've seen Eli leave already and possibly do the missing children side ops. And the later missions in no way require any harder replay version of a mission pre-completed, they don't care what mission you do in your meanwhile whatsoever. Doesn't matter if you take Quiet or not.

It's quite probable that they actually require you to've progressed x far in game time since the last story event. It just so happens that missions are a fantastic way to horrendously waste in-game time.

I had this same issue, i simply played threw a few missions and side ops until i was called back to mother base

Ik it has been some years, but for anyone who is still facing the issue: I did a few side ops, the last one of these was to capture the legendary brown bear, before that I cleared many outposts and afk'd for a while. Directly after the last side op I did my screen turned black and the cutscene for the mission started. Apparently you just have to wait some time and do a few missions
