The most we can hope for is the HD collection. MGS2, MGS3 and PW. I have them all on my PS2/PSP, but i would gladly have them in HD on Steam with achievements. But i doubt it will happen.

You can play most of them on PC with an emulator, MGS on MSX, MGS 1 and 3 (2 is on PC), metal gear solid acid 1 and 2 with a PSP emulator along metal gear ops and Peacewalker, or you can buy a psp with these game, it should be cheap by now.

you can even play peace walker online on pc

I'd enjoy it if the hd remakes came to pc. Doubt it'd hapen but it'd be nice.

Or you could buy an used PS2 for 10€ and hook it up on your old SDTV.
PCSX2 is horrible for emulation, just dreadful. The amount of sound problems, slowdowns, clock speed requirements, etc, etc makes it a no-go. It also lacks proper post-processing effects.

Obviously the HD collection for the PS3 is better, but a Steam re-release for 20-30€ would make a whole lot of sense. They established their market here with GZ and TPP.

Emulator is great but it's not the same thing as a dedicated game, not only that but the PS2 emulator is very heavy on my PC so I can play MGSV but not MGS3.

If thats the case....screw emulators.

Just might want to find the thread that is asking for the collection and post there.

true about pcsx2, and the controls of ps2 mgs games cant be properly emulated either, unless you are using dual shock 2 or 3. But ppsspp is perfect now, no need to even set it up-you just launch the game. And peace walker emulates perfectly too, every single graphical or other bug has been ironed out, no problems with Portable Ops as well. btw steam rules say we can get banned for talking about emulation

I imagine if you're desperate a ps3 is probably quite cheap now.

All the MGS games but 3, peace walker, and 4 are on PC. You can play PW and 3 with a emulator, as well as all the other little offshoot games. The only game you cant play on PC is 4.

I don't really mind emulating the games but a 60 fps hd version from the HD collection would be really nice.

Doesn't the HD collection on PS3 run at 60 fps? Most of the time when a PS2 game is ported to PS3 it runs at a better framerate than it did on PS2.

Maybe konami will do it. If they know its makes money. Personally i hope they bring out the hd collection. Maybe they will remake mgs3 :)

The amount of misinformation in this thread is crazy.

Right Now: With a PC that can play MGSV well you can play any MGS game ever created in the highest quality available and best controls with the sole exception of MGS 4 GOP because PS3 emulation is still in its infancy, and wouldn't you know it? PS3 emulation just got a massive bump for anyone with a DX12 capable card: http://www.eteknix.com/latest-playstation-3-emulation-looks-promising/ so in due time that may change.

Those claiming that PCSX2 is a bad emulator simply didn't take the handful of minutes to check the compatibility page with suggestions to get the optimum accuracy and smoothness of emulation.

Here are the MG games running on my medium-grade rig at ~60 FPS:

The sole downside of some of them being that some of the textures were low quality so look gnarly scaled up to 1440p.
