Screenshot Folder
So I kind of renamed MGS:TPP's screenshot folder in Program Files (x86) / Steam / userdata / (Your ID) / 760 / remote now none of my previous screenshots show up in the (Metal Gear Solid: The Phantom Pain) tab when I go to upload the screenshots but say I take a few new screenshots now those will show up but anything I took before changing the folders name will not show up they'll only show up as a black and white triangle icon with a exclamation mark inside of the triangle !. Is there anything I can do to fix this.

Then, I played the game again, the game created a new screenshot folder and did not recognise/save the future shots into the renamed folder.
Funny enough, the new created screenshot folder has the same number as the original folder number.

From there onwards, the Stream Screenshot Uploader window blackens the photo that has been 'moved' from its recognised folder/place. This shows that, Steam Screenshot uploader ONLY seeks/look at ONE folder, and player can't change to look at another folder other than the Numbered folder.

I have tried cutting and pasting the old photos from the renamed folder into the new created screenshot folder(together with the thumbnails folder within it). The Screenshot uploader still shows the old photos as black/Undetectable.
I have also tried to change the Renamed folder name back to the original string of numbers. I gave the prompt to merge with the new Numbered folder, which would give rise to the above situation/result.

OK! I HAVE GOT IT.
My method DID WORK, but jjust that you have to Exit Steam/Restart Steam again for the Steam browser to update the information(the cut and pasting/moving of the old screenshots). Then when you check your old screenshots through the Steam Screenshot uploader window, the old screenshots will NOT appear as black/unreadable anymore, they will return to normal/visible/readable images again. : )

Just to Summarise:
The Steam Screenshot Uploader window will ONLY shows photos from the folder THAT has the original folder name(a string of numbers) on the folder. It search photos in that particular Numbered Folder.

Qn: Can I keep the renamed folder(eg. Gamename_Number or any other naming of the old folder)?

Anwser: Yes. But Steam software would still save your new screenshots into a new folder, after it notices that the original folder is not found(Steam is stupid, it only able to detect the name of a folder), so then Steam would create a new folder USING it's original Number, which happen to be the SAME number as the folder before you have renamed it and made Steam couldn't detect the folder, causing Steam not able to find your old screenshots.

For the renamed folder(with all your old screenshots still in it), you CAN cut and paste all the old screenshot photos into the newly created Numbered folder by Steam(from playing a game and taking a new screenshot). But remember that there IS a subfolder inside your renamed folder called ''Thumbnail'' Folder, you will also have to cut an paste the photos inside into the Numbered folder's own Thumbnail Folder.

You CAN keep the renamed folder for referencing/check which game is the Numbered Folder(created by playing a Steam game) referring to.

you can upload any picture as a screenshot if you name it as one of the taken screenshots and replace the original, dunno if that helps

Never give up, trust your instincts
Why did you rename it? And why don't you just change it back?
