How do you change characters?

I cant seem to figure out how to change characters for playing

Have you expand your base to the point where you created an combat unit platform? if you already done so, you will have an option to select and play as one of your combat unit member during the loadout screen for a mission or side ops.

Ah thank you, do you know when roughly I get the combat unit platform?

After certain missions, you could start expanding your motherbase, use your idroid and go to motherbase tab, and select base facility, and start expanding your base, it will cost you gmp and material, as your base gets bigger it can hold more staffs.

You roughly get the combat units after a few missions in the main ops, Miller will inform you.
