You have to defeat the Man on Fire and call a chopper while he's down (or you just fulton him). Do not call a chopper while he's up since he'll destroy it fast.

All you have to do is perfect stealth no kills, once you cross the first base it's pretty easy. You can even steal the truck, or hide in the back, as the truck driver goes up to the bridge. If you don't want to deal with enemies east of the broken bridge, you can actually cross the bridge by climbing the rocks to the left, and then go up until you find a shortcut that goes all the way to the cave. Allows you to sprint and cut time. There's a tent at the end though, with a couple enemies, but easy to take out.

At the end, taunt Man on Fire near the water tower and blow it up. As he's down, order ammo where Psycho Mantis is floating so he gets hit. Doesn't matter if he gets hit or not, make sure to fulton Man on Fire after the crate falls. And that's it, call the chopper and you'll win and get bonuses. Just make sure to get perfect stealth no kills and no reflex.

Yeah, you have to actually call in the chopper yourself, which imo is a terrible design choice. The way the mission presents the scenario you think that one will just automatically land somewhere. I had the same problem. Running away from the thing for like 10 minutes waiting for the chopper to land before realizing I had to call it and having to restart from a checkpoint.

How is it a bad design choice? You were fighting Man on Fire who destroys the chopper before you can even get on it. And believe me, I tried sneaking away from him on my first time, only to die as Pequod gets destroyed before even taking off.

If my memory serves correctly I think Ocelot says "we're going to bring in a chopper" or "we're going to chopper you out of there" or something that implies that the chopper is in bound without your orders. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure I remember something like that.

Because usually they automatically call the helicopter for you during moments like this. In fact they automatically call it for you at the start of this fight, before the tunnel gets blocked off.

Also you're generally in a frantic fight for your life at this point so it's easy to misinterpret the codex calls that are going on during this time and not catch that they want you to call it in manually.

Like I said, you are fighting the Man on Fire. Try calling Pequod during the fight, and he'll get rekt. It would be a bad design choice if he DID come during the fight, and get destroyed, making you lose money.

They could have scripted it so he automatically starts his descent when the MOF is stunned. Doesn't seem like that crazy of a thing to do.

Related question: is there any other way to stun him besides that one water tower? Are there multiple towers? I can't remember. If you blow both towers can you somehow get him in the pool?

If the battle drags for too long, rain will fall and he'll disappear.

Lure him to the cliff and drive a car into him.

Shoot him with a Brennan.

There are two water towers. You can also take him down with the water pistol. Rain does the trick too. If you have a high enough Motherbase support team you can call in weather changes like rain, or if you just wait long enough it will rain eventually.

The first time I fought him he unfortunately took out the water towers while he wasn't near them, so I ran around like a chicken with its head cut off for a long time trying to figure out how else to deal with him. I couldn't find a way to make use of the pool of water. You can stand in it but he just fireballs you while standing at the edge of it. I don't know if the fight is scripted to eventually rain after enough time has passed or I just got lucky, but thats how it eventually ended for me.
