Pirated the game, decided to buy it now, importing my old save files doesn't do ♥♥♥♥. What do?

The version of your pirated game and original game in 90% is different.
And I don't know, but lemme guess, that's the case.

Yup. Pirated was 1.01 and the current version is 1.06 right? But how come people that have been playing since release still have the same save game? Or am I missing something

I don't know where the pirated game save location is, but the save location here is in the steam folder itself by the steam APP ID number of the game. I also don't know if that would mesh well, achievements, online, etc. Best to start fresh.

It SHOULD work because people have already shared their save files here. There was a critical bug where you could loose all your progress for some reason. You just have to put it in the right folder.

Just one thing: If you use your save file from the pirated game you won't be able to unlock some succes, for exemple if you have maxed out Mother base then you won't get this achievement.

So have you only played the intro sequence? You can actually run through that pretty quick if you skip the cutscenes.

Saves go in:
Steam\userdata\User id\311340\remote
I know that TPP's appid is 287700, but saves are "routed" to Ground Zeroes' folder instead.

Oh my god, thank you so much man.. It works. It unlocked most of the achievements at once, too. But I can't seem to be able to connect online, I'll see what's causing this, but thanks for your help, much appreciated. o7

Well he did the right thing in the end. I have pirated many games but I do support purchasing to support devs. Then again I only buy a handful of games over a year.

Ok Guys. Follow these steps. First copy save files from ::: C:\Users\Predator\Documents\CPY_SAVES\CPY\287700 ::: and then paste it to D:\Steam\userdata\362121208\311340\remote and thats it

C Predator is my computer name, so just choose your name whatever it is
