why does soldiers and manonfire/psycho mantis fight at hospital?

This is one of the lame parts of the story where I could have written a better story. Basically Mantis is controlled by Venom at that part, controlled by his lust for revenge HAHAHAHAHAHA.
It's the same nonsense with Volgin and Eli.

I thought Mantis was controlled by Volgin at that point. He's just killing anything that gets in between him and Snake.

they were not sent there by the same person, keeping it "simple":

Xof goes in to kill snake

coincidently, Volgin's body is there being held for research.

during explosions psycho mantic is awakened from a coma/sleep he was in

feeling volgins desire for revenge he teams up with him aiding him in killing snake. which means cutting thru Xof strike team if need be

presumingly skullface shows up and psycho mantis senses his "lust for revengeeeee" and teams up with him.

If you look at Mantis's face at the scene before the flaming whale, he has a horn on his upper right forehead.

In scenes where he's controlled by Volgin, he has a flames or some ♥♥♥♥.

In scenes where he's controlled by Eli, he has a red beret on hi shoulder.

In scenes where he's controlled by Skullface, he has a racoon mask.
