Price to call in Heli for LZ
Why is it costing me $54,000 just to call in the helicopter to pick me up? Even from my motherboase it's costing me $54,000 just to pick me up and then when I finish a mission that's another $54,000.

I'm losing $100,000 for every mission basically.

Because you have your chopper decked out in upgrades. The more armor and all that you put on the chopper...the more expensive it is to use it. You can take the upgrades off to lessen the cost. Also, when done with side missions...use the 'return to ACC' deal in the pause menu. Then you can head back for no cost or wait time. Don't use it in the middle of a mission though for obvious reasons.

Ditch the chopper upgrades. They're useless anyway.

And then the chopper gets one shotted by a sniper.

What heli upgrades? So the more I upgrade the heli the more it costs to call for LZ?

Yea, I would recommend taking all of them off except for tiem upgrades (takes less time for chopper to arrive etc.) armor and all that can be taken off. If you want to go loud on someone's ass with it...put it back on if you want.

Can't say I've ever experienced that.

I personally do a bunch of side missions before returning to the chopper. I end up with tons of GMP by the time I'm ready to leave.

The most expensive upgrade is the very first line of upgrades -> helicopter engine tweaks that allow Pequod to arrive faster. Those things will cost you tens of thousands GMP. Everything else is pretty cheap but that stuff is insane, and it doesn't make that much difference to be honest.

idk about a single shot unless a Notmetalgear is invloved but it dies to 2 dudes putting focus fire down easy peasy without armor. It can tank 1 AA gun easy with the armor and super speed though which is nice. Just wish you could build helicopters like the MB ap and steal them like peace walekr and use them like peace walker. Would be hilarious to call in a stolen hind to ♥♥♥♥ up some russians while blasting some ♥♥♥♥♥♥ otaku music.

not like you need them if you're a stelf master like me :^0

I played the whole game without heli upgrades as soon as I realized it increase my deployment and extraction cost. It's at 1000gmp now and it feels great calling it whenever without worrying about extration cost.

The upgrade only benefits if you use the heli offensively, if you only use it for extraction like I do, the upgrade is just a burden.

No it isn't, but cost way less though.

All of the upgrades increase the cost. The most drastic are the deployment speed hull upgrades. Keep it low if you don't feel like spending 68k every time. Personally, at this point, I'm stuck at the 10 million cap almost permanantly, so I decked it out just so I can spend some money on something in order to receive the rewards (usually more money) from doing missions and deployments. Stupid system. And the online caps for resources don't even alleviate the offline caps! When I'm at 200k, any new processed materials just get subtracted from unprocessed and then disappear.

I usually leave all upgrades off my chopper. I think mine costs over 80k to call in decked out- I keep it upgrade free so it only costs 1000GMP to extract with. HR insertions or support and the upgrades are worthwhile- I pretty much never get it shot down upgraded. It may leave smoking, but it leaves.

The reason why "extract a material container is free" isn't because it is- it's assuming you want to spend the 10k to extract the container which most people will, and it costs nothing more to extract on top of it.
