So yeah I was talking about Strangelove's death in another post and it made me listen to her tape once again and when I did, this sentence puzzled me. Those were part of Strangelove's last words. The tape is marked as yellow wich means it is important. Do you think that this "someone" is us, and that we have to find and crack that code to unlock something in the game ? She says it is burried behind meaningless code and it should help making The Boss' vision a reality, but we never hear about that secret "egg" in any other MGS game.
The Boss' vision was a world living in peace and harmony, so could it be linked to the chapter 3 (wich I don't believe it exist) "Peace" or to that nuclear disarmament cutscene (Wich is more likely). If you watch tha cutscene in high definition, you can even read something interesting on the monument the boy is putting flowers on:

"We have no tomorrow,
but there is still hope for the future."

This is a quote from The Boss during the Tselinoyark incident.
And just above are the words: "As of this day, the flame set alight in the plains of Alamogordo in July 1945 has been extinguished."

So this, plus The Boss' quote, plus Strangelove last tape makes me think that this cutscene and the A.I. pod are somehow linked. There is something to find here guys, let's find it ! :D

I think that "egg" is an early prototype of Fox Alive from MGS4. Upon being unleashed, it kills the AIs while leaving the world mostly intact.

A lot of what Naomi did in the series is pretty questionable. The Nanomachines in particular were supposedly her creation too. But now we know that it's just derivative research based on the parasites.

The "egg" is what helps Sunny make the program that stops the patriots. It makes since when you think of Otacon's memetic parentage to Sunny being like a continuation of the The Boss's memes Strangelove tried to pass to him.

Where did you heard about nanomachines being derivative research based on the parasites ? They have nothing in common.

Also Emma created the virus to kill G.W., Naomi enhanced the virus and asked Sunny for help, then they used the virus to kill the remaining Patriots A.I., they never mentioned the mamal pod nor The Boss A.I., so I really don't think and can't see why you would think this virus could be "the egg".

Strangelove created the Patriot AIs, the "foundation of the world" is JD, the "egg" is the exploit she left in the AI because it become obvious to her ♥♥♥♥ was gonna go south. Also using a term like "egg" and not connecting to Sunny is just silly.
